Why is it okay for Jax and Nasus to hyper-scale with only 1-2 damage items?

Not trying to whine or bitch and moan, I'm just curious why Jax and Nasus are allowed to wreck face with only 1-2 damage items while other characters need to devote every item slot to damage stats to get equal power.

Why is riven allowed to have the kit she has?

Why is vayne allowed to have %Health true damage?

Why Katarina allowed to be resourceless when being a normal mid laner?

Why is Maokai allowed to have paint and click lockdowns?

Why can amumu stun your entire team?

Why is annie's stun, annie's stun?

She's somebody's waifu. She's shoots directly into the eye socket. Noxians give no fucks for limitations. Because trees are good at roots. They all pity his sadness. Because you played with fire and got burned.

Why is sona allowed to have radius dps abilities and sustain? Why is Renekton tanky and sustain and stun? Why is Swain tanky and high dps with a root? Why is Fiddlesticks allowed a fear and sustain? Why does Urgot have the biggest cup size in the game?

She hits those keys REALLY hard. Because crocodiles are badass mofos. Because he sold his soul to the bird. Because he triggers the Uncanny Valley. Missle storage, obviously.

they both fall off late-game for teamfighting

I thought late game is where they were strongest?

IcyPepper1 votes

I hear that Susan is actually strongest mid-game, when adc's don't have LW or other tank-busting items yet or late-game level dps they're known for. Sure, he can two-shot towers and squishies late-game by himself, but he's quite effective mid-game when joined with his team when towers are being equally contested, not just defended.

But that's what I heard, take it with a grain of salt if need be.

Yeah Susan is stronger mid, Jax is a strong late game. Let me adjust my statement about Nasus though. His team fight potential and damage against champions is high mid game but late game he clears turrets faster than an adc.

they have no way to deal with cc so all they do is cancer your turrets

they are powerfull in 1v1(splitpushing) and small fights lategame, but they are bad in full 5v5 fights as they can't really tank fullgeared carrys(well, noone but a ulting alistar can do that...) and are easily peeled against.

BigPooStorm1 votes

This is true, especially as the skill level of your opponents increase. Late game when the ADC has QSS, knows how to kite, and has good peel, I don't care how many stacks I have, I might not even be able to reach the ADC, unless it's a particularly good engage or I get off a very good flank. That's why late game Nasus is more of a split pusher, since he can 1v1 almost anyone with enough stacks and take towers down pretty fast.

BigPooStorm1 votes

Let me explain as a Nasus main.

First off when I pick Nasus, I have a horrendous early game. I have literally 0 kill pressure, unless the other laner massive screws up or botches a dive. Not to mention because of said weak early game, I risk snowballing the other laner because for the first 15-20 minutes I'm just focused on stacking and staying alive.

Second, Nasus would be completely useless if he wasn't able to hyper scale with his stacks. Tell me what use Nasus would be if his Q wasn't able to chunk carries when he's been staying under turret and stacking the entire early game? Hint, he would be the worst champ in the game.

Third, he can be kited/peeled quite easily, even late game with 700+ stacks, especially if the ADC builds QSS and has a good peeler like Thresh, Janna, or Lulu. Also as you climb with Nasus, you'll notice that once ADCs start getting more skilled at kiting, it becomes exponentially harder for you to reach them and kill them in team fights, and there isn't anything you can really do about it, other than trying to flank. A diamond level Vayne is going to know how to kite me and kill me, and there isn't anything I can do to really "outplay" this because by his nature, Nasus doesn't really have much "outplay" potential.

I'm fine with the Q stacks being strong, I just kind of wonder why he doesn't need more damage items to fuel it. Nasus doesn't need to commit any damage items to get super-charged damage except a Triforce, or even just a Sheen. He builds exactly like a tank except for that, while other members of his same role need to get damage/defense hybrid items to remain relevant.

BigPooStorm1 votes

Because instead of fueling items to support that damage, he fuels time. My target at 20 minutes is 400 stacks. I've found that amount to be what I need to kill carries with 2-3 Q's plus 1-2 autos. Guess what I'm doing for nearly that entire 20 minutes? Stacking.

And to continue to build that damage, I need to be investing time in stacking. Most champions just see a big wave and clear it in a couple seconds. I have to sit there for a minute or so and stack it if I want to keep building my stacks, and this isn't always possible if teamfights are breaking out and there's action all around the map.

I know a lot of people at low ELO think he's OP because they played one game where a Nasus got fed and one shotted their carries while being tanky as hell, but that rarely ever happens. There's a reason he isn't played that much.

I too am a Susan main, and for the last nearly ten games i haven't lost because people have trouble dealing with me. When i get like 300 or so stacks and u decide to fight me when u have no kills then guess what, I WIN becuase of a simple fact: most champs need kills to get their strong items faster, but nasus doesnt need one kill to destroy you, he needs stacks. So in ranked games i play super passively and the enemy laners are too scared to jump onto me, even if they are riven, and end up losing their lane completely. I know this concept seems stupidly broken, but in fact their is one blaring weakness to him, u have to kill him early or get kills from somewhere else. There is however another thing u can do, and this is an important one, DO NOT PUSH YOUR LANE TO HIS TOWER, imo he thrives off of that. I fought a heimdinger who kept his mini turrs right at the edge of turr not letting me even walk forward, but after enough stacks, i could one shot any mini turr and then kill him. Do not push, let him do it because in order for him to win, he has to q ur minions and that is when he gets exposed. FYI, for anyone who is curious, some of nasus' greatest late game counters are anivia and vayne, especially vayne, %true dmg and endless tumbles tooooooooo op.

P.S. Nasus WHO WANTS D CANE?

Sire Hippington1 votes

why does a average adc have 4-5 times the range of jax or nasus and yet some escape skills on top? If you need to get into meleerange and actually have to stay there for some time without haveing massive mobillity or dodge skills(stuff like fizz E), you do have to built alot of tankiness. If you now don't have much cc to offer, you need to bring alot damage with you to be relevant in any way.

Jax's 5 v 5 teamfight is a little overrated. Even with the tenacity from merc's and the resistances from his ult he still can't get in there and do his job as easily as he wants to so long as he is peeled for and focused. Same thing with Susan. I think that both of those champs are better for taking turrets and creating massive pressure at top lane and not teleporting into fights right away unless the fights themselves are already seem favorable for your team. With her op passive and even more reliable point-click cc I fear Irelia more than those other two.
