With the Taric Rework You Just Did Everything Right
Back in season 2 on my old Account I played the shit out of Taric. Everyone was playing him as a support but I loved playing him full AP top, his ratios were ridiculous at the time. Later his passive was reworked to give you extra damage on-hit that scales with mana, wich made him hilarious with a manamune-offtank build which I grew to love even more. He was a tanky juggernaut and an healer aura support at the same time with an interesting scaling and I always played paladins in every video game anyway.
In early s3 his playstyle changed significantly. His AP Ratios were gutted and replaced by HP and armor ratios. His passive basically gave him ( and still does give him ) a non-cd sheen that scales with armor and reduces your cooldowns by 2 secs. He was OP at first as a support but then he was nerfed. I still liked him though and played him as a toplaner very often. He remained the essence of being a paladin and had the benefit of no one knowing about it.
Then he got kinda boring though because there is little mastery to him. Also the meta got flashier and Taric, being a Juggernaut, couldn't really keep up. Everything was either able to outfight him or kite him to death. I think with the current toplane meta being pretty much " who can abuse sunfire-gauntlet the most " Taric actually fairs pretty well again but he's still meh as a support and pretty boring.
When the rework was announced I was happy at first but I had a lot of worries still. What if they killed off his toplane off-build? What if he wouldn't be a juggernaut paladin anymore but just another boring heal and aura bot because giving him two lanes is too hard to balance? What if they would kill of his oh so fabulous design and replace it by yet just another copypaste knight warrior dude?
But today I've seen it and it's amazing: -Taric will be a great toplaner AND support -Taric will still be a Paladin -Taric will be the first and only juggernaut support in the game -Taric will have actual depth and mastery -no pizza feet -and OH BOY will he be fabulous ( without being too drag-queenish )
