Why was mid Pyke nerfed?

Sure, you didn't want him in mid lane. But why? He wasn't exactly OP or game-breaking. He's like Viktor top except less oppressive.

They really, really want him to be a support only. He wasn't necessarily OP in midlane, but he was still strong and frustrating to play against. His whole schitck is to be an assassin support, so they will nerf everything that lets him play in another role.

I really hate limiting strategy based on some idea of what the meta should be. I hated funnel comps because they are boring and op but I enjoy Smite-Mid to be honest. Same for playing Pyke in Mid. I think Pyke is a problem but I could care less what lane he is played in. That is just silly.

Idk how we can call Pyke support literally "Assassin bot lane" that's all. He havent anything supportive, besides that his ult gives a cut to the assistant player.

And is based on being in the jungle by merit of his abilities and the nodes that he activates. You can make a claim of anything you want but that does not change the fact that Pyke does have support abilities and functions well as a support.

Urgot has stun flip thing like Pyke and an execute like Pyke.

Don't misunderstand me, I think any champ can be a support as long as they play as the support, support items, warding, amping up the team. Nasus has an attack speed slow and an armour shred, plus is a beefy front line with his ult. Illoai is also a great front line the enemy can't ignore and a maxed E first is painful in lane.

Pyke however doesn't feel as much of a 'amp up the team' kind of support, than finish them off after everyone else does the work.

You can, actually, use just about anything as a support. They may not fulfill the normal role of one but there are a lot of mages that do the same thing. Zyra and Brand are super strong supports right now and neither of them actually do anything different than Pyke. And Pyke even gives you gold for stealing your kill. :)
