@Riot: Cassiopeia - Miasma

Hi Riot! Just wanted to point out some things to you. Miasma as you have created it is currently utterly useless in lane. Unless you can predict the movements of a 12 year old 3000 miles away at his desk playing against you, Miasma is invalidated by everything it would hope to deter. If you try to predict, they simply walk around it. There's absolutely no reactionary way to use this spell. Here a few factors for why this spell is bad:

  1. Miasma does not stop champions from dashing or tumbling through it. What's the point of having a spell that grounds opponents if they can dash through it to safety and still wreck my face?
  2. Miasma is weirdly locked into this awkward range. When someone is on top of me, I need to GTFO. I need to be able to drop Miasma at my feet and flash away. But I can't. I'm as useless as Aurelion against melee.

P.S. You've very clearly designed Cassiopeia to be a speed mage adept at chasing with her new passive and the massive speed boost on Q. However, she can't chase because she has to stop to cast. What good is all of this speed if she's delayed skill shot dependent, her poke is on a short range, and her means of stopping or slowing or increasing her speed require her to stop to cast, giving your foes a very easy out while you watch them fly away cackling?

Holy crap that Miasma is stupid. I was playing Ziggs, their Gragas ganked me. She used her miasma and they CC locked me inside the Miasma. I tried to flash, I couldn't so I literally paniced. BUT when I used my W I realized cassiopeia's miasma blocks me from jumping away with my w That was a nightmare...

In team fights, it is useful. But I explicitly noted that it's utterly useless in lane, because in a 1v1 scenario, it's exceptionally easy for an opponent to not end up in Miasma. The spell is not reactionary and has an awkward range. It can be amazing set up for dumping in a team fight and helping with mop up, but that requires chaos and not the careful calculation that a single lane opponent has.

If she could put it right in front of her, she could lock people down with no counterplay: stun them, miasma, poison, twin fang until they're dead, and they couldn't flash away because of the grounding. It's supposed to be her weakness that if she gets closed on people can kill her

Except that Miasma is useless if you can't use it defensively. You can't effectively make it to the team fight stage and win your lane if this "weakness" exists, ESPECIALLY with assassins and Yasuo running around in mid lane. Miasma is a narrow AOE anyway. If an opponent at your feet can't walk out of it and then flash away, they're not intelligent. The time it would take for an opponent to walk out and flash away is not enough time for Cass to instantly murder them, notably during laning because she needs quite a bit of AP to be that lethal.

Really love how she rework the W to counter mobile heroes making Cassio loose her only tool to beat people at close range. Srsly for the range this W zones you already have her ultimate to peel. Mobile characters don't stay on max range waiting for you dropping miasma underneath them. They jump right into your face.

Had no problems pre patch against any mobile character like leblanc or zed. The grounded ability should get Viktor on his W.
