@Riot Is fizz getting buffed or nerfed in the upcoming assassins rework ?

article said they gonna focus at his being slippery ability, does that mean riot's gonna nerf his damage or sth ?

Fizz is due for AP buffs overall but they are going to shift some power nonetheless from other parts of his kit (some E damage, %missing hp) to make up for some of the added tools he will be getting.

i dont think he really needs any damage buffs in any shape or form tbh.

his w is definitely going to be replaced by something else. they already said in the past that they dont like how inconsistent the damage on that ablity is. its also to a large part responsible for bruiser fizz being a thing a while back.

idk, w, e and r are very characteristic fizz abilities. if riots gonna change one i hope its q.

its definitely going to be his w. probably changes entirely.

they said repeately, that they dont like his w as a dot ability with inconsistent damage. its also not that important to his identity and could be replaced by almost anything that is just flat damage.

He isn't going to get more damage into his kit then he has now, he is getting more tools, better lane, better initiation, better mobility. It is doubtful they will fully replace his W. It was stated that if Fizz was on the table for one of the major reworks, it really was only his W and passive that would be redone and just power shifts on the rest of his kit. Seeing what Riot has written on the topic, I don't believe they will fully rework it, just add new tools into the existing kit, possibly just a new passive, some power shifts and new mechanics such as Q untargetable.

It is an issue when the players who play Fizz in LCS will just flat out not take him mid when it counters syndra in lane and instead opt for weaker lane in vlad (when vlad is already "nerfed"). It is an issue when LCS casters praise the fizz player for only being 20 CS behind and how well he is doing while any other champion they are commenting how they are losing lane. As a champion who is expected to snowball and whose opponents can play a safe game and negate his roam for kills, that is horrid. Especially when "weak" early game champions can style on him. He is going to get buffs, it won't be in the form of damage, just in more tools to make him less famine.

As an aside, a bleed effect very much fits in with assassin thematic so the dot itself is fine.
