Anyone Else Have Huge Ranked Anxiety?

It actually took me 1,000 Normal games before I even tried Ranked, even though I'm usually a competitive person. I just hate letting people down, and no matter how good anyone is, they'll eventually have a bad game.

It's particularly bad when it's my first game of the day. I start to get anxious as soon as I press the queue button.

Just remember 1 thing:

Bronzes and silvers are worse than intermediate bots in terms of laning mechanics.

I played bots exclusively, played about 100 normals while still mixing it up with bots, then went to ranked and got silver. Within a month I was gold. Then this season I got silver after placements, was gold after a week, and plat after 3 months. low elo is not that hard.

Well, not quite.

I have a friend in Silver II. His farming is impressive, and is usually the highest on his team, maybe even the enemy team while losing to them. He doesn't die a lot. I like supporting and jungling with him

Impressive is relative. I'm unlikely to be impressed, just as high diamonds and challengers are unlikely to be impressed by plats.

True. But he's chilled, doesn't rage or anything, and we have fun. That counts for something too. :D

that is indeed a huge plus. Not raging in silver gets you halfway to gold already.

Honestly, the silver rank is a huge mess. It has so many people that they can vary in terms of skill and toxicity. This can be detrimental because you never know when you are going to get an extremely good teammate or an extremely bad (or when you are getting an extremely good enemy or extremely bad enemy).

This is what makes silver so difficult to get out. I managed to get into gold, but that was by far the worst experience I had on all my 2 years of playing LoL.

That's only if your skill is at a silver level.

In my judgment, skill levels in silver can range from Bronze 2 level to Gold 4 level. Thus a diamond can get out of silver easily, a plat can get out of silver with some challenge, and a gold can get out of silver after grinding. A silver can never leave silver for obvious reasons.

It's not that so much. I was placed into Bronze I and am currently in promo for Silver II as we speak, and I've been getting 30 LP a game for quite a while. I just get nervous regardless and was wondering of others shared my apprehension of queuing up.

I told my Gold friend that I won't rank until I can 1v1 one him with a win rate of at least 50% or more.

Gold borders look really nice. :o

Yeah, I feel/felt the same way. Ranked is difficult, no matter your division and tier because everyone is trying their best to win the game. I say that because everyone's skill level is different, and so the games will be different. Good luck! :)

I love to do ranked.....but one afternoon of losing 5 ranked games in a row (three of them due to the same troll) really made me stop enjoying ranked.

On such situations, I recommend you to wait 5 or 10 minutes before going into another ranked game after losing. While this does not ensure that the troll will not get into your team again, it will greatly decrease the chances of that happening.

Also, once you lose 2 ranked games in a row, stop playing ranked for the rest of day. Or at least stop and go normal games. If you realize that you are winning a lot in a row, you can return to play ranked, but I would still recommend to wait another day. Having a loss streak can be detrimental not only because you will be extremely frustrated, but also because it can affect both your ELO (you can be demoted) and your MMR (with a low MMR your chances of getting more trolls actually increases).

I've played a lot of games competitively and I hate League's the most. It's such a grind to get to promos and then it only takes a couple trolls to negate all the work you put in. It's very unrewarding.
