I think removing Yasuo's double crit will solve a lot of issues

It's a dumb gimmick. Has nothing to do with his theme. It makes him overloaded and it is the only reason why he can go tank because he receives free damage. Make him like master yi or give Yasuo bonus AD if he builds crit but his crit damage is HEAVILY reduced. Something unique. Not just free damage.

"Nothing to do with his theme"

It's actually to represent the precision in his sword technique with each strike.

So 50% chance of hitting something at the beginning is the precision of his strike??? WTF.

Ralanr6 votes

50%?

He shouldn't have crit at level one. But if you want to argue that we can just give him 100% crit at level one.

The precision is that he's so good with his sword that he's more likely to get critical hits than a guy with a gun.

Awww man... you know what would better represent his skill with a sword? If every time he hit you he one-shot you. I mean, the whole samurai killing you in a single-stroke is a thing right? Yeah. I think it's important that we fit him thematically by giving him 100% max health true damage on-hit.

Ralanr1 votes

Tots bro. And while we're at it, let's make those tornados tear people apart.

lol, someone downvoted me. Not sure if it was a butthurt Yas fan or a Yas hater who didn't realize the joke.

I agree, especially with the current iteration of pd, he can just rush pd and that gives him ridiculous amounts of stats and scalings, reduced cd for Q and more frequent auto's from its 45% AS, faster movement, only 5% (not counting the near an enemy passive on the item) which isnt that much but that means his shield is up more often for trades, 60% crit which any point past 50% crit is basically adding effective ad because you are more likely to make a critical strike than not, AND 12% damage reduction. Meaning this one item gives him move speed, attack speed, CDR on two parts of his kit, defensive stats, and be more likely to crit on auto's and his Q than not, all for 2550, a cost that is almost as cheap as 2 component items for other Big damage/tank items (randuins' components cost 2000, Triforce's cheapest components cost 2150, ludens' components are 2100)

He rushes pd and then grabs IE second and that is 100% crit....... from 2 items lol. At least with most champions they have to dedicate the majority of their item slots to get 100% crit making the stat relatively balanced, yasuo can get it and still have room for 3 tank items meaning he hits like an adc, and lives as long as a tank.

You want yasuo to be balanced? remove double crit.

Personally I think his dash should also be similar to renektons except it isnt limited to two, make it a skill shot and if it hits a target the cd refreshes, keep the "cant dash through the same target for x time" by making to where targets he has dashed through recently dont reset the cooldown, then you can outplay it with your own dash or flash and it wouldnt even be a straight up nerf because then he would just have a non opponent-reliant mobility spell meaning you could use it for terrain movement, gap closing etc.

The Whamboozler2 votes

I agree with almost everything you said except this.... Do NOT make Yas's dash a skillshot unless he gets ONE use of it. Letting him dash around wherever he wants would break him even harder than he already is. The few times A yas gets caught it's cause he's in river or something and he has nothing to fly through to escape.

Honestly they should just increase the CD of his dash so you can actually catch up to him without a form of CC

But Tryndamere is A-OK because double standards.

Ralanr1 votes

Nah, because he's old and thus people leave him alone in the nursery home.

The Whamboozler2 votes

Tryndamere is ALSO a badly designed mess that increases the frustration of the game just like Yas... But he does less. So yeah, he's less a problem.

Tryndamere does exactly TWO things. Splitpush, and splitpush. Oh, he'll duel you if you come to stop him alone... but he's gonna spend 90% of the game just slapping minions and towers and ignoring all the other players. This is terrible gameplay to be sure... but it's far easier to handle than Yas. Stop him from splitpushing and he's useless. Garbage. Probably gonna ragequit.

Yas however can splitpush. He can teamfight. He can assassinate people. He can even pretend he's Braum and defend his backline with Wind Wall. There isn't a way to shut Yas out of the game and render him useless. At WORST he hides behind his team and waits for someone to land a knockup so he can press R. There's no risk to him unless he CHOOSES to go in and risk himself. He's not great when behind, but he scales well and has some strong utility powers so he can still matter while he crawls back to being relevant. What's more... he's probably hundreds of times more popular than Trynd, so you will see him ALL THE TIME.

That's not a double standard. That's called "A bigger problem".

Junkο1 votes

Guess what, Tryndamere can teamfight too, he is a monster in teamfights if he gets even slightly ahead (which isn't hard in the slightest) unless the enemy team has a shit ton of hard CC (which Yasuo is countered by too btw). He can also assassinate people which is why dealing with a splitpushing Tryndamere is a pain the ass since he will just kill the person you send after him, but if you send more his team will slaughter the rest of your team elsewhere while Tryndamere Es over a wall, waits 20 seconds for you to leave and then goes to split the same lane again, or just TPs to the other side lane. It's not easy to deal with in the slightest.

Catch Yasuo splitpushing with your team? He is dead, he has no minions to run away from, all you need to do is hit 1 CC spell, 1 of the many CC spells that aren't projectiles that a majority of the junglers have, and he is a free kill.

Stop him from splitpushing and he's useless. Garbage. Probably gonna ragequit.

So just like you can kill Yasuo in lane if you use your brain, and boom same situation. Not only is Yasuo useless because if you are top you will massively outduel him or if you are mid you are gonna burst him the second his windwall enters CD, he can't splitpush as good as other splitpushers since he has no escapes

so you will see him ALL THE TIME.

I actually very rarely see a Yasuo aside from me, and even when I do, that Yasuo is complete and utter garbage(also like me). Vayne, Rengar, Lee Sin, all those champions are way more popular than Yasuo atm, so if Yasuo is hated because he is popular, than that's a huge double standard right there.

ANYONE can teamfight. It's not something he's strong at. He needs to be ahead to do it well and he basically serves as a clean-up guy. If he jumps in first he's CC'ed and killed. He can't engage, peel, or reliably reach the back line unless his teammates set him up VERY well or the enemy team is dense as hell and lets him flank the adc or something. Yes he CAN do it, but it's situational. No one picks Trynd saying "Yeah. I'll go Trynd for his sweet teamfighting!".

Also you and I have a vasty different definition of "assassin". I guess yours is "anyone with a mobility skill who can kill someone". That's.... fair, I guess. But I wouldn't call him an assassin because he's not built around playing like an assassin. Sure he can kill you 1v1 if you come to mess with him. That is what I call a duelist. They're pretty similar, I suppose. He lacks the kind of tricks that other assassins have. People like Zed, Kha'zix or the like. He doesn't dart in, kill a carry and dart out. He spins in and starts chopping like an lunatic. Ahead he's pretty bursty, yeah... but his damage is mostly SUSTAINED damage, not burst like an assassin. Still... splitting hairs I guess.

Ok, here is where you lost me. First of all... if it takes your team to stop the splitpusher... he's doing his job. That is the point of splitpushers. NONE of them are invincible. If four people rush top and catch trynd, he's dead. Singed? Dead. What matters is that it took four people to stop him, and while you're doing that the splitpusher's team took towers, dragon and the like. Yasuo works as a splitpusher (at least in low-medium elo) because he's a powerful 1v1 duelist and he scales really hard. If you go for him alone he'll probably kill you, and if you bring your team, his team will get crap across the map. You won't even set him back too hard with the death either, since the gold he'll make from Csing alone is so strong on him due to his bananas scaling off of crit items.

And FYI, I can stomp all over Trynd in lane too. In fact, it's easier. Trynd pretty much has ONE trick. He right clicks things. He's absurdly easy to harass, zone, out-trade and generally give a bad time to in lane. He's pretty easy to kill too if you're savvy. 90% of the time games against Trynd have the Trynd getting slapped around in lane, then they stay in top and mindlessly push top all game because they're behind and can't teamfight but the constant pressure they put on the lane is annoying and hard to deal with. This is EXACTLY what I was saying, so I don't know why you're so pissy and disagreeing with me here. I'm not even sure what you're disagreeing ABOUT or what your point is? That Yas is a worse splitpusher than Trynd? Um... that's true. I don't think I ever said he wasn't, but sure. That Yas is a worse champion than Trynd? They're both absurdly annoying with frequently obnoxious, BM-prone players and awful toxic playstyles that I think ruin the game. I'm gonna give the points to utility tho and say Yas is more obnoxious at more things due to his overloaded kit.

Vayne, Rengar and Less sin are ALSO often the targets of rage, bile and hate... for the record. All of them, save Vayne, are resourceless AD killbots that have very strong or frustrating kits. Lee has a TON of mobility, utility and damage, and Rengar cheese-kills you if you're not hugging tower when he arrives in your lane. FYI, you won't know he's near your lane until it's too late. All three of those champs are also superb duelists, able to kill people brutally in 1v1's, and this is why they get a lot of hate.

And lastly, I don't know where this magical place is that you never see Yasuo... but for me he's usually permabanned because no one wants to deal with his obnoxious ass on either team. The few times he's NOT banned... someone will often pick him. The dude isn't overpowered, just overloaded... and really, REALLY obnoxious.

Double crit isn't an issue with yasuo, his crits even have reduced damage. Alot people have issues with his windwall so it might be just better to give it a health bar of its own. Chances are though they'll probably change the bonus armour pen from his ult to lethality or bonus armour pen.

The Whamboozler2 votes

Why do people say "he has reduced crit damage" like it's a flaw. That is NOT a flaw. A crit-based ADC will crit for slightly more, yeah... but it takes them ALL GAME to build enough crit chance for that to be reliable. Yas builds ONE crit item and now hits for 180% of his base AD a little over half of the time. His second item makes that ALL of the time. It doesn't become a "flaw" until there is someone else in the game who is critting on every attack for FULL crit damage. For most ADC's this is at their full endgame build. Yas gets there in two items, letting him get even MORE damage past that (which offsets the slight crit damage reduction with EASE) or build tanky and make himself absurdly hard to kill (which offsets the slight crit damage reduction by making him able to get in more attacks before he's down).

It's not a weakness just because it has a minus on it. It is an attempt to keep him from being ENTIRELY broken. If I had an ability that did, I dunno.... 40% max health true damage to an enemy champion 70% of the time I used it and did nothing the other 30% of the time, that would not make it a FLAW. It is a powerful ability that has a limiter on it. It would also still be a be broken and a poorly deigned, toxic ability. There's no flaw to using it... it just doesn't always work as well as it can.
