I feel like getting rid of runes is a big mistake...

Let me start out by saying runes themselves were never a problem in the first place. The issue was that they weren't easily accessible to newer players, so they naturally had a disadvantage in games (ranked or not). However, after Riot reduced the cost of the runes that should fix the issue. Even with this new system we have, there are just way too many stats in this game, and every champion needs different stats in order to succeed. Furthermore, the runes let you choose whether you get the stats early (flat), or if you want more stats in the late game (scaling runes). There's so many different combinations when it comes to runes, and that was one of the things that made it interesting. A smart player knows that you can't use the same rune page every game. Sometimes you have to adjust a bit depending on the matchup. This new system looks interesting, but I feel like it can't replicate the diversity and customization you get with runes.

Those are just my thoughts. What do you think?

The only runes I'll truly miss are my 3 movement speed quints, everything else I can survive w/o...
