What's with all the threads complaining about every game being 20 minute stomps?

LegacyDAP··3 votes·312 views

I hate to use the term here, but it's literally fake news. The majority of games are 25-30 minutes, some even go to 45+ minutes.

I'd love to see somebody actually have their match history be filled with 20 minute stomp fests, it just doesn't happen that often.

Games are only shorter by like 5 or 10 minutes max, and in my opinion I actually like that games are shorter. I can play multiple games instead of just a couple now.

EDIT: Still trying to see somebody refute the point that the majority of games aren't 20 minute stomps. Just seeing people say that they're one sided, which isn't the point I'm trying to argue.

Doesn't even matter if it's a twenty minute stomp, games are one sided.

Whole different topic which I agree with to an extent, I believe the majority of games are one sided. However, games don't last 20 minutes though on average (maybe like 1/4 or 1/5), people just seem to remember them the most because they're the least fun.

I love and adore games that go past 40min. There is no room for error and it really shows off your skill and determination to win. Games that swing in one teams favor to them throwing, to the other team getting more global gold and eventually pulling off a win. It's the best feeling ever coming out of an hour long game that even though you lost the early game, your team pulled through to win. More games should be like this.

I enjoy endgame far more than midgame (new endgame).

But I will say, I wish I could practice coming back in the endgame from pushed inhibs. But it doesn't happen often enough to learn from it. If you watched SKT vs SSG game 2. SKT had two inhibs down and had to get THREE separate picks/teamfight wins to finally close the game. And during those three fights they were able to maintain enough of a fighting force to slowly mount a win. Whereas with my teams. Even if we get one ace. Lanes are pushed, enemy is up before we can take a turret. Maybe rarely win a second teamfight. Still lanes are pushed and can't push for a win. Then we lose. It is definitely a tough gamestate.

So you like end game?

Arguably shorter games are better for you because you get to end game quicker if you can hold out.

The problem isn't short games, those are a side effect of the actual problem which is poor balance decisions that make games one sided.

People need to stop complaining about Riot making "short games" and complain about the poor balance that causes them.

Also arguably there is really no room for error now in early game, so I don't know what you don't like about having games being 1 sided stomp fests that depend on how well you play early.

People feel like it is decided with no chance to win.

LegacyDAP1 votes

That's just entirely not true because most players are also bad.

Sure people can "feel" that way, but it's still not true.

This isn't a complaint about "truth." This is them complaining that the game feeling hopeless so early is a thing.

And you know what, if it is not true then there is definitely a problem. If people keep spreading the same lies that games feel like they end TOO early, then that might mean they want longer games. Maybe Riot should stop pushing for shorter games. Even if the gamelength stayed the some, something is causing multiple users to perceive that games are shorter and this is making games less enjoyable, which is a problem.

The games on average are about 5 minutes shorter than they were in Season 5. The problem isn't the length of the game it's the balance state that makes it feel one sided and end up causing this feeling.

People need to stop complaining about wanting longer games and should be asking for wanting more fair/balanced games which will hopefully end up creating longer games.

The fact is 20 minute games aren't the problem, it's a side effect of the problem. Riot wants shorter games, but not 20 minutes short. 25-30 minutes (on average) short is what it currently is.

Their games were so short, they had time left in their day to come to the forum and talk about it.

People are saying the game is a 20 minute stomp, but they aren't saying games literally end at 20 minute, but it's basically decided at that point. And in solo queue people tend to end a lopsided game a bit slowly as theyplay with their food.

I'm not sure either. Maybe it happens during a certain time or elo, but I haven't experienced these "every other game" super one sided 20 minute games this forum loves to complain about.
