Welp it seems like Riot has ruined ranked for everyone at this point.

Solo queuers get screwed because we don't have a solo queue, and now dynamic queuers are getting screwed because basically everyone is gonna look at that badge and consider them boosted regardless of whether or not that is true.

Dynamic queue has done nothing but make a mess of this community.

Its hilarious how stupid this company handles a simple problem, they fucked up with the new que, no matter what they do they will always fuck their solo playerbase with that system. It was a REALLY REALLY REALLY stupid and retarded idea to think " lol lets just merge soloque and 5 vs 5 Matchmaking, this will be so much fun and engaging". No matter what they do, the basic idea of Dynamic Que is completly retarded. But hey, riot wont admit they did something wrong so they wont change it anyway. Its comical how they try to make everything good again with badges, who gives a fuck about badges guys, come on.

The whole season is a joke. High lvl players are hardly trying to climb, they spend more time boosting or smurfing low mmr games which then hurts the lower mmr players. Unless of course you have that high mmr friend boosting you, in which case again the solo players are the ones getting the shaft.

ZeeWolfZ7 votes

I have no motivation climbing back into Diamond.

I had several friends I know who've been bronze for 2 season, they both found couple of Diamond friends who boosted them into high plat.

This season is a joke.

I'm not going into diamond either...

But that's just because I'm bad.

What's that - matchmaking's a joke with DQ? How about if I give you a gold star for playing solo? All better now?!

Troll for Trump5 votes

How does a gold star fix the problem?

If anything, it gives compensation for some people who've been screwed over by the system, but it does not fix the problems cause by DynaQ.

Troll for Trump1 votes

I get that it's meant to be a joke, but the joke is based on the flaws of a "ribbon/badge" system proposed by others.

Oh, and if it was a joke, it's hard to tell, and it's not funny.

Yea, because "gold star" is definitely a serious term when used outside of kindergarten...

You sure don't sound like you got the joke, lol.

Wow, seems being a sarcastic asshat can solve the problem.

I admire your brilliance. Who would've thought of it? Being toxic can solve all your problems. I suppose this should be applied in-game too.

It may be wrong to you, bit it isnt wrong to them. This is the way they want the game to be, and its gonna take them s while to get it right. If you cant stand it you should either quit playin ranked or quit playin league altogether.

AninLegions77713 votes

Wtf do you mean by "it isn't wrong to them"? Don't make a fcking joke of yourself. They made this game for the players. Guess who they are. Me and you fam. So if it's wrong to us (in this case, solo players), then they should at least listen to us and fix it. I'm tired of players like you defending riot whenever they screw up.

MonkeyMadness3 votes

Best part is, they continuously hide behind what they believe to be a failure in the execution. That Roundtable video proved it. They kept calling DQ and the associate problems "fucked up" or "shit" but they just affirmed that they would slap on some "iterative improvements" and other fancy words (@RiotSocrates) and the issues would just go away. Quite the opposite. The problem is in the principle. No matter how many band aids you put on this, no matter how statistically "fair" DQ becomes, the premise of allowing premades in the same queue with solo players causes an un-level playing field. Done. The problem is not the execution, but the principle. And Riot either doesn't see that or refuses to, and I'm not sure which is worse.

I play a crap load of league, and I dont spend my time on the boards crying about DQ or whichever champion nerf or whatever insignificant issue. The super tryhard, win or threaten to report your whole team, take every game so serious that you tell teammates to kill themselves and rip your hair out like a neurotic gerbil over in-game events mentality killed this community. Not dynamic queue.

Probably in the history of video games there has never been a game like league where a bunch of people who play hours daily bring themselves to the official message boards and spam conspiracy theories about the company who made it because they don't like some aspect or change.

Anything Riot does will get called out as "ruining" one thing or another. Trying to please the boards audience is like trying to convince your cat to breakdance. You all piss and moan and cry about every little change, yet spend hours and days of your life playing league. Oh lord, life is so tough.

Man, we all hate Riot for making this game. zzzz

DynaQ was a response to the fact that SoloQ had some of the worst online gaming conditions you could consistently achieve without any input whatsoever. You just had to join a game and people didn't want to be there with you; you just had to pick a champ and you already lost, which was already all your fault.

I don't think DynaQ is quite the answer, sure, but there's a pretty solid problem with your players when you're straight-up worse than World of Warcraft's players.

It's in lieu of them actually grabbing their nuts and seizing down on crappy behavior, or in lieu of them doing something to discourage or prevent smurfs. It's a band-aid, and it unfortunately seems like you'll all just have to deal for now.

In the meantime, it might behoove us as a community to be a bit more involved in the casting-down of poor sportsmanship; almost like if we had some sort of council, some sort of means by which we as a community could pitch our vote in on players' punishments... like some sort of tribunal.

And 15 years from now no one will care about if you played ranked with friends or solo...

Keep crying and you'll grow up one day to not care about it.

I used to sound like you guys when I was 18...now I'm 23 and I can careless about what state this game is in. Or about if I win or lose. I have a full time job, family and real life adventures to look forward to.

Some people have just made LoL a priority in their life and even worse...put it above many important things.

20 years from now so many people will regret not going outdoors or discovering things or living their youth because time flies by and suddenly you get off your chair and realize...'damn...all i've ever done as a teen and in my 20s was play league of legends'...

'Time to go say hello to my family and friends for once'...

'Oh, some of them have past away and some have moved on with their life...'

'I guess after so many years the gold border was truly worth it...'

If you don't have time management, your problem. There are people who are good players, still work, go to the gym, partying whatever.

Jorencice2 votes

This^

There is 24 hours in a day even with 8 out for sleeping and 8 out for work that leaves 8 hours to chill with freinds family and play leauge.

And if your willing to sacrifice sleep you could easily play 10-15 leauge games a day and still go out to dinner with your family.

For a lot of people it does.

I for one do not want to deal with teams falling apart because of someone's opinion on the authenticity of someone else's rank.

It happens now though. Not much would change.

I see people in master tier who get flamed at for being shit.

And I seriously doubt they were boosted.

Wouldn't dynamic q players, playing against solo players highlight that they are the kind of boosted scum that deserve that badge of shame.

To be fair. It is exactly what "solo queuers" have been asking for. "The problem with dynamic queue is that you have no recognition of solo skill."

Besides the fact that they said that this was only one step in what they were trying to accomplish, and not just giving out the badges and then leaving entirely.

I said absolutely nothing about asking for Dynamic queue or champ select. What are you arguing?

Blind pick is the new ranked

ModCaptainMårvelous5 votes

To be fair, that's always been a thing though.

"So who did you pay for your boost?" "Where did you buy your account?" "Don't get your friend to push you to gold next time."

etc etc etc.

Jonxx4 votes

Don't play dynamic que then. It's actually good incentive to not play dynamic, and more solo.

Also, people will always find a something to flame you for if they want to, and changing game around it is bad.

Blue Moon Wolf4 votes

Doesn't help that they just screwed over ARAM with the last patch as well. I honestly feel like they were thinking " people have stopped playing norms & ranked, so let's make ARAM worse so we can get some ARAM players to play more normal & ranked."

LostFr0st3 votes

^Don't even get me started on this. I only managed to play a few ARAM games testing the changes on the pbe because all the other queues were still online so there were 45+ minute queues for ARAM there.
Guardian items are garbage and a noobtrap. The only decent one is item 3184 , by a long shot. I'm just glad they reverted removing item 3302 from ARAM in an early iteration. It's gonna be a long while before ARAM settles down again.

Blue Moon Wolf2 votes

oh wait, they put item 3302 back in? Well I have some tank Item sets to work on. What do you think should be done to fix ARAM? I heard from one person that they should revert the cooldown on summoner 4 back to what it was so marksman can't escape from melee champs as easily, I'd personaly like them to reduce the cooldown on summoner 32 back to what that was or reduce it even further since they made the hit box smaller.

LostFr0st2 votes

Yeah they were gonna scrap it but didn't. Guardian items are crap.
They should NOT be in every starting item set.

I haven't gotten used to the gold flow changes but the increased gold for kills and the minions starting at high gold makes it even more important to snipe last hits.

The passive gold also makes turtleing when you're comp can't fight until 6 impossible; but it's a strategy you have to use sometimes depending on the champs you're dealt. In this case you now lose in champ select. I haven't seen a comeback yet.

I don't think the SS cooldown is a big deal.
What is huge is the removal of all the ms engage items from the map, making snowball mandatory now for some.

Double edged sword is a big confounding culprit this patch as well, I don't know what that's doing to the map either.

I haven't faced a Teemo/Shaco as of yet, but how are we to kill the traps now?
Oracles just reveals them in red untarget-able status.

The widening of the area near the base now makes it harder for the defending team to set stuff up; before we had a choke-point to get them and make a comeback. Now you're probably better off fighting on the bridge without your turrets, to be brutally honest.

If they increased the nexus turret ranges and pushed them slightly forward it'd be a start.

There's other stuff, but I don't want to give a bigger wall of text :P Maybe I'll put it all in one post; gonna take me a bit though...

Blue Moon Wolf2 votes

Would be nice to see a post about this. I don't see a lot of people addressing the ARAM situation, which I mostly assume is cause of the whole Dynamic Q fiasco right now (seeing as it's apart of the main game it makes sense). I know Riot doesn't rely on the boards for decision making, but I do like to believe the boards at least lets them know that there might be an issue they should look into.

LostFr0st2 votes

I'm on it^^ It's just a very long post zzzzzzzzzzz. I play a ton of ARAM and was very upset that they didn't do focused testing for it on the Pbe by shutting down the other queues for a bit to funnel more traffic. The queue times were terrible. QQ

It looks like you got everything covered (even some things I had no idea about), I do think that the new vision hurts champs like MonkeyKing, Rengar and Evelynn who can utilize their invisibility for certain plays, but it's not like they suffer too much. Wukong is pretty much all around good due to his ult (escapes are near impossible since you can see him in red), rengar suffers more but not necessarily to the point where he'll do much worse and eve is eve... the fact she's a big candidate for a rework next year says plenty. All around nice work :D

LostFr0st2 votes

kk, thanks^^ I think you hit the mark on Rengo and Wu; as for Eve her team will blame her for losing regardless of what she does in her current state, at least in red she's already close enough to reveal anyways ('cept the bush red vision ofc). I just hope L4T3NCY sees it. Maybe it was a bad idea to post it at midnight lol.
