So, some months later...

How's the "new" jungle? And I'm not talking about the junglers necessarily, but the jungle itself. I was called an idiot when I said that the jungle changes were bad. There was no point in changing the camps or how it worked, apart from MAYBE just increasing the respawn timers, MAYBE, so that the powerfarm junglers do not get a huge advantage over the other ones.

Now, the power farmers and the super early gankers are the only ones being played. You either play something that can clear the jungle healty and efficiently, otherwise you will die to raptors, or something that can gank early, like Elise. Everything else is trash tier. Amumu? A joke, if he wasn't already. Sejuani? ROFL. I could go on. And all those need to be able to 1v1 somehow, otherwise you are getting hard counterjungled by the ones who can jungle.

Recently, I played a game where I had Sejuani in the jungle vs an enemy Lee Sin. I was winning mid lane, but Sejuani was TRYING to farm to level 6 so she could gank, while Lee had pulled off 2 ganks before level 5 WHILE BEING AHEAD IN XP AND FARM. If this isn't an indication about how bad most other junglers are, then I don't know what it.

Don't get me wrong, sure Sejuani can help in the late game and also I'm not a clear fan of early game snowballing hard, but you SHOULD BE REWARDED by having higher chances of winning if you take an early game lead. And I'm not talking in ways of "double kill bot - first tower gold - rotate mid - mid tower gold - gg game". No, I'm talking about having to work to maintain and push your lead by being lane dominant off the early lead. Therefore, early game leads should be granting you higher chances of winning late game. The point is that picking Sejuani in the jungle almost guarantees a weak early game for your team, to the point that the late game trade-off she provides doesn't make up for it.

TL;DR I stand by my opinion that the jungle changes were unnecessary and bad. Even more so now that assassins also inhabit it, which by design are unhealthy to play against. Khazix and Rengar generally don't have a lot of counterplay, are extremely easy to play and just do a lot of things really well.

Solution? Not necessarily to tone them down, but make the jungle camps slightly easier to clear for the tankier champions. Revert the removal of camp-specific smite bonuses. I still don't understand why they were removed. They were too confusing for the players? Really? Smiting now is useless.

The smite buffs weren't too confusing to new players. Rather they became too obvious on which ones you would take, which lead to clear paths being pretty linear.

Well, still, right now, you only smite if you're low hp, or to avoid a steal, or to just farm faster. No strategy at all. At least back in the day, there could be a strategy that you smite enemy wolves to get vision or something. Sure it wasn't nuclear science, but it created some interesting potential.
