I suppose it only fair if I do mine as well. Hello, I am fairly new to support but I love it to death especially ow that Thresh was in the free rotation and I got to play him. I actually made another thread about him for all you Thresh Mains. any way let us begin.
I am limited in my support choice but I love Poppy and Thresh (I hate Blitz/Morgana though)
I also JG pretty good as
and never forget to show my struggling botlane some love because I know what its like to be on the other side of that feel. Top is my other lane as Poppy and the occasional TF or Annie Midlane (we should all play more roles so we know those feels)
My favorite bot partner is by far definitely a good Lucian, or at least decent Tristana. They are both very Bursty and lack CC which both poppy and thresh make up for very easily. I do prefer Tris for sustain purposes but when I get angry and get my murder on as the Support, Lucian is my main man (pun intended)
I Hate with the burning passion of thousand fiery suns being paired with Ezreal or MF. They are both so unable to capitalize on a good play and not good enough to let me get ballsey with my plays. Which as you know can get pretty hairy if you are good
Fun Story, few games ago (this morning) I got into a game as the support. No one else went Bot lane. I soloed in botlane against ashe and Fiddle with minimal ganking (like two the entire game) managing to take two towers and score 3 solo kills. and one on each gank. I picked up a sixth kill in the enemy base on their ADC after kiting for literally five minutes so my team could push lanes in then Baron for the win. I finished 6/1/13 while solo bot lane as thresh. It was an interesting experience to say the least.
Tips: So there are some things I recommend to you as a support player.
1.) Explain your abilities and the plays you intend to make to your ADC BEFORE you try for them and do not assume they know what to do. No matter what always tell your ADC Don't go in unless you use your Targeting ping. one too many times I go for a bit of harass as support and do some warding and my ADC gets gangbanged by the other team cause I wasn't ready for the Leroy Jenkins Play.
2.) If you have a burst ADC DO NOT EXPEND CC UNTIL YOU GO IN. also have them take flash heal. You should take flash ignite. Because their life is more important but the kill is more important than the last hit going to the ADC.
3.) Remind your ADC of the wave's location, how you plan to zone, deny CS, and your personal limits as a player. If they want to push under tower and you can't tell them. keep three casters up at the end of every minion collision. let them die to the next wave and only last hit being sure to keep a three caster advantage and keep the wave on YOUR SIDE OF THE LANE. This is very hard, takes practice but is immensely impactful
4.) Zone. Zone like it is your job, because it is. Keep the enemy as far away from exp much less CS. It is your job and do it well because you don't have to make lay. Plays will happen if your laner gets the CS advantage rolling. (for instance Draven will crap on any lane you keep away from their CS he will dive them like no one's business. and delete them everytime
