How was I "good"? o.o

Last night, me and my brother and one of his friends played a match. I was playing Poppy for about the fourth time in my time playing League, practicing her as a top laner instead of my typical Rumble. We had this other guy, playing Blitzcrank, who was doing rather amazingly. I was dying left and right, and this guy was killing enemies on virtually EVERY lane. Helping out quite a bit!

So when it came to the end of things, I apologized for sucking so bad, and the guy said I did good, whereas he did bad. I'm not exactly sure how he did bad, or how I did good... I guess I should take it as a compliment? I just dunno what to make of it, is all.

Perspective plays into a lot of this. While you might have done well in his opinion by either not dying, keeping up in cs, following up on his plays, etc., etc., he might have thought he was doing bad because he felt the game was out if his control causing him to do more and potentially making more mistakes (maybe not as dying much as others but by... Not being somewhere, missing hooks, etc etc).

You are your own worst enemy.

It's called being a nice person overall/modest.

What you encountered was a human that hasn't been infected with the disease of needing to win/be better than you.

Multiple things:

  1. Lying to make you feel good about yourself
  2. Personal opinion
  3. Satisfied your role as a tank, being the front line, while maybe he didn't fulfill his role as a Rumble, being team fight zoning
