it makes perfect sense

you failed to dodge the skillshot and you chose to take less damage by running away, so you have to take the slow instead.

why should you get hit with her skillshot and run away with no consequence?

its a fast moving skill shot and tentacles spawn around you for like a minute after breaking the range. So yes you shouldnt be punished for a minute

If you don't want to be punished for a minute, then you can avoid getting hit by the SLOW skillshot (seriously, the cast time is so long and the speed is mediocre), or fight her and force her away from your spirit, or kill 3 tentacles after your spirit gets broken. If you can't do any of those, than accept your punishment and dodge some tentacles.

no it isn't. you have PLENTY of time to dodge most of everything in her kit.

And those tentacles stop spawning altogether when you kill three of them. Counterplay.

read everything before you shitpost, thanks

It punishes you for running away from confrontation.

Zair Umbras2 votes

But if you stay, you're punished anyways because your ghost, and you, are murdered by the massive amounts of AoE she and her teammates will be packing.

Kinda like Blitzcrank. They also have the same counterplay: Dodging.

Zair Umbras1 votes

Not really because if Blitz pulls a Tank, well, he just screwed his team. If Illaoi pulls a tank, her team gets to turn their front liner into mush without counterplay.

Compared to Thresh Yasuo LeeSin Illoai is pretty tame. She has pretty obvious weaknesses

Kindred is pretty balanced and really isn't overloaded. This new champion doesn't seem overloaded at all either. Many of her abilities have delays and are skillshots, including the main ability you are complaining about. It's not like she targets you, rips out your soul, beats on it and you die. It's more like she lands an ability, and it allows her to damage you.

It does make sense, though, thematically and gameplay-wise. You're having your 'Soul' jutted back in to your body, it basically causes your champion to enter 'Shock'.

Although, I do agree that this is rather contradictory to Riot's usual stance of "Muh Counterplay".

Thematically yes gample wise no

if you hit your recall within two seconds of breaking it, you will be fine since those tenticals spawn every ten seconds.

Of all her abilities, her E is the ONLY one I have problems with. It's got a huge ratio on it and a high base, so you can half life anyone hit, including the front liner tank who's moving SLOWLY and can't dodge as easy.and in a team fight with just a Cleaver, Death's Dance, or simply 1 damage item as a whole, you'll do 50%+ with a maxed E. As long as you hit one person with it in the midst of a team fight, you're guaranteed 50% more damage against them since your entire kit is AoE, plus everyone else on your team with AoE gets to help.
