"Or if the target dies before..." Poppy's Shield

Annie~~ 's Q refunds its mana if it kills a unit or if the unit dies before the spell reaches them.~~

Cassiopeia's E works the same way.

The point of these abilities is that they are meant to be used to last-hit minions, so their mana gets refunded if they get used to do so, with a failsafe if they attempt to be used to do so but don't work out.

Poppy's passive shield toss is intended to work in a similar way, providing the shield automatically if it last-hits any unit. For some reason though, bouncing off a dead body doesn't work the same way as bouncing off a killed body, and the shield will fly away as usual if the target dies while the projectile is in its travel time.

I propose Poppy's passive gains a "corpse bounce," providing the shield if the targeted unit dies before the shield reaches them. It is meant to be used as a last-hit and trading tool, but lacks consistency with similar tools used by other champions and can result in awkward situations if an allied minion retargets an enemy and kills them while your shield is mid-air.

I just tested Annie's Q and it absolutely does not refund mana or cooldown duration if the target dies before it reaches the target. I am about to test Cass' E (and I see that the in-game tooltip says it will if the E is in flight).

Yep, Cass' E does.

Sorry about the misleading on annie's. It also should have this treatment applied, and mistakenly thought it already had.

It's just so much more intuitive to use the skills at a target intending to kill it and get it proc'd consistently.

Noooooo

If you fuck up, you fuck up.

That is, having the CD reset wouldn't be bad, but getting compensated for fucking up shouldn't happen.

If you fail to CS with it, then you have to go pick it up. But you can keep the damage and range.
