How do you feel about Swain now? He still feels weak to me.

I absolutely hate it but I'm still trying to work with it.

I like the passive change. I like that it gives you permanent health and mana. The numbers are pretty bad though. I typically get around 70ish stack in most games. Thats about 350 health and 700 in his ult. The problem is he does no damage and heals for a meh amount so it isn't enough.

I loved his old q mechanic. It was unique and felt powerful when used right. The new one is so weak, generic and the cool down is super awkward.

The ult is no longer gated which I like but its so lackluster. You have to be in the middle of 5 enemies to get decent healing out of it. The problem is if they all target you the healing is not enough and the bonus health is a joke. The damage is non existent and the demon flare active part is really bad.

I've started building him as a pure tank at this point. His ap ratios are so bad that its pointless to try to be bursty. I havn't had much luck either but I don't want to give up on swain.

My problem is with q. It's essentially useless in team fights it takes forever because of the long ass cool down so maybe once or twice a fight I get to use it. They need to keep the minion Collision the way it is revert the cool down to what it was and let us have to manage our Mana

They tried unsuccessfully to make him more like he was before the rework. Let's see what old Swain had:

  • Toggle ultimate with better healing
  • One DoT zoning ability
  • One DoT damage buff
  • One ranged snare

Now it's:

  • Ultimate gated by CD with less healing
  • Cone skillshot with no damage, poor range and prohibitive CD
  • A slow ranged skillshot that roots champions for a short duration ON THE WAY BACK + soul fragment
  • A long ranged, high cool down, poor damage utility skillshot + soul fragment

I expected the changes to Q to make farming easier, but it made it harder. It's longer CD prevents you from using it again to clean up low health creeps. Range isn't even good enough to trade with most melee matchups now, LOL.

W is still garbage outside of the odd times it's useful, Long CD and delay make it difficult to include in your E+Q combo.

E is still unreliable and since your Q is on higher CD you have to use this spell more often just to CS properly. Removing healing with passive now means I get punished for pulling in people after E.

Health scaling is useless and I burn through my mana CSing even with RoA. Unless the enemy team is running from you healing buffs are useless.

Swain simply lacks MASSIVE amounts of damage or defense for what he's supposed to do.

You can - and I mean litterally, I've been there - go 20-5 and still feel like you're in an avarge game with no ability to carry WHAT SO EVER! Everyone walks away from you even with Phase Rush! Everyone can blow you up when you go for DMG! Everyone can simply IGNORE YOU when you go for defense!

Swain has NOTHING!

Q is shit - pathetic range, hilarious CD, laughable BaseDMG and scaling. This is a spell I need to be closer than a freaking melee AA-Range get some decent numbers!

W could actually be a cool spell - IF THE OTHERS HAD SOME USE! They took the "NeverHit" meme and took it to an extreme. OK fine. But completely boosted in this KIt!

E... that's easily the least rewarding skillshot to use. It's so damn easy to counter but still deals no damage even if your opponents 2k ping makes him stay in both instances!

I really want to like this Champ because of how much time I spend playing him in the good old days. But everytime I play him he feels like shit. The only way to win against someone is outstating so hard he can't fight back. You can't kill anybody with at least one working braincell without blowing your 120 second CD!

Old Swain had issues... I wont deny that. But he was fun, he was unique. His Ult felt so damn satisfying to use. It was great dancing with him on the very fine edge between overextending and to passive in every single fight you took. And if you're 20-5 once again... how did you kill an enemy... E-Passive-W-Q and than better have ignite or Ult like you do now? NOPE.. E. W. DEAD! Like every other actually scaling champion in this game does!

Well and now since Morde exists... why would you even consider Swain???? Morde DOES EVERYTHING SWAIN DOES! He does MORE. And he's better doing it!

I hate to say it especially in this era of high damage but for the amount of mana he spends for spells his damage should be like syndra
