please give us (defensive) items that interact with turrets.

honestly, siege master should have been an item passive, for an early game item like item 1054 item 1082 etc. instead of a mastery.

other possibilities:

  • an item that gives us the regenerating shield for ourselves and our turrets while near them, that inner turrets used to have
  • an item active that manipulates turret shots to + 50% attack speed and splash damage, like the old fortify effect used to have
  • an item active that lets us take direct control over a turret for a couple of seconds and allows us to chose its target
  • consumable teleport platforms that can be deployed on destroyed turrets.
  • an item that grants us a stacking combat buff for the rest of the game, for each turret we participated in destroying (or something like a stacking mountain drake buff per turret destroyed)

the last one could actually be worked into item 3056

  • an active item that deploys a siege ballista like from the nexus siege mode item 3631

there are so many possibilities to make turrets more interactive.

I think an interesting item active would be one that forces all nearby turrets to attack you for like...five seconds. Basically allowing your team to dive using their mobility and then you run in and press a button and suddenly the turrets focus you. Then you can just tank for a few seconds while your team picks up the kill.

I'd argue it should be a starting item as there'd be little reason to have a defensive turret based item when you're meant to be pushing the base. And if you're losing it just stalls the game harder.

well, the effect does exist in the game, one way or the other. and considering the alternatives, youre not really giving anything up for it (tough skin lel). so everyone who goes into resolve picks it up anyways, since its the only viable mastery at that tier.

making it a cheap component item like item 1082 or just straight up a starting item, would at least give some option to itemize against being pressured very early on in lane.

the mastery could be replaced with something more generally useful.

i feel like the effect would be more appropriate on a component item or a starting item, since you really only want this in lane, and it has basically no relevance later. so youd get the effect of 8 armor/mr near turrets, and then could build it into another item, that gives you resistances without the condition attached, or a larger effect, like the shared shield that the inner turrets used to have.

Agreed. As a mastery it's basically useless past laning phase unless your team is getting sieged. While the masteries of the same level on different trees are at least in effect throughout the game.
