I think if you are building lethality as anything but an assassin you are an ahole

Lethality is meant for assassin's. Pantheon and jhin cut it out.

Lethality is meant for anyone with decent ability damage. Jhin, MF, Pantheon definitely cut it.

Joxcab1 votes

Only because Riot took flat armorpen meant exclusively for assassins and bastardized it trying to rebalance it around ADCs and others who don't have any right to abuse it in the first place.

Kàyle2 votes

"don't have any right to abuse it in the first place" wut. This games itemization is set around scenarios. If ANY champion has good base damage, with the primary role to deal damage with said item it should be accessible to them.

It's not "Meant for assassins." Assassins primarily use it because their skill patterns work with it. However, other skill based casters exist too. And you know what? They can sacrifice late game damage to participate in early game too. Assassins don't own the early game meta anymore than tanks.

What does Pantheon build?

Not that I play other champs other than Morde, I don't get it.

What's the problem with others building lethality? Especially if a team is really tanky with a bunch of hp and armor. You'd be shooting yourself in the foot by not doing so.

Even playing Morde I have built Ghostblade and Dusk blade before, with magic pen later, and I'm not an assasin. I just needed the lethality tp get thru Rammus's armor and Magic pen to have moar pen

cus everyone gets pissed off when they walk up to you and take a lot of damage

KnightOfEloHell1 votes

So build thornmail and another armor item.

Sometimes ya gotta throw survivability in your build, ya know?

Like, as Morde, against an AD heavy team with lethality, I'll go Thornmail, Zhoynas, Guardian Angel, and Randies/Deadmans

KnightOfEloHell1 votes

But against tanks, BotRK, Ghostblade, and Liandries core.

Hybrid pen builds OP

Lethality is terrible against armor. 1 point of armor = 1 point of lethality but armor is much cheaper. Even after considering %pen (and lethality users won't get %pen very early).

You also have to know how much point of armour gives Physical damage reduction, because lethality it not terrible againest armour when say you have 250 armour and an opponent has a Black cleaver and 54Lethality Plus the runes for Lethality.

lets just say you last 2 seconds, because i dont see anyone lasting any longer, since this has already happend to me once and it pissed me off

You have it backwards. Lethality targets flat armor. Armor Pen targets bonus.

So if you go full lethality vs a team of armor health stackers without ldr. You will be hitting peanut damage to them. Sure you might negate 75 of their flat armor. But they still have 300 bonus armor as well :p

KnightOfEloHell1 votes

Huh. Well pen works nicely for me, but BotRK is also taken for %hp damage; maybe that's just me.

I'd say the lethality users are squishy but when Talon two shots you thru thornmail and randies... ouch.

Lethality isn't that big of a deal on other champs tho

Talon OP

HeilHiem1 votes

to be fair, lethality is currently bugged if you think about it, since it is considered a Unique passive, yet it works like a Passive instead which is not how the Unique Passive mechanics work.

i would say its not like no one cannot build it, but its still to overpowered the way it is and needs to be fixed the right way.

BLACK REALM GOD4 votes

nah. unique passive just means you cant stack it from the same item. unique named passives cant stack.

HeilHiem1 votes

i have already confirmed that any passive that has Unique Passive attached to it cannot stack on top of each. That goes or Named Unique passives and Normal Unique Passives.

Why do you think Rod of Ages is the only item in the game with a Passive and a Unique passive.

Not to mention that other Normal Unique Passives of the same type do not stack with each other.

It has already been said that Unique Passive that have atleast one item in common do not stack unless they are seperate names.

there was a discussion back in 2010 about it.

BLACK REALM GOD1 votes

item 3504 item 3222

HeilHiem1 votes

they have already said that with the masteries for healing and shield power on they can stack with those items yet they do not stack together.

there was a post about it last year, because if that was the case then item 3504 item 3107 item 3222 would all stack together and they do not since i have tried with first hand experience

BLACK REALM GOD3 votes

you should get a second opinion on your first hand experience then.

i already did when i told you they had a discussion about it in 2010 from an actual rioter, so no i wont be looking at that.

2010 is almost 8 years ago... im not sure you realized this, but things have changed...

i know things have changed, however the mechanic of Unique Passives is still the same named or not. why do you think the only actually item that stack with it self is Rod of Ages, because is has a Passive and is the only Passive in the item list, granted the Eternity unique passive doesnt stack, the health mana and AP stacking do stack on each ROA.

its just like you cannot run Ardent sensor, Redemption and Mikeals Crucible together for the healing and shield power, since they would be too strong for a champion like soraka or sona to just mitigate damage from healing and shielding allies and that is counting the Masteries that go along with it.

Why do you think there are patch notes from last year that state those three passives do not stack becuase of that reason.

so again, lethality if you think about it, in correlation with all the other Unique Passive that do not stack with each other, is the only one that does and breaks the game mechanic of Unique Passives.

Except that they do in fact stack. You obviously are not up to date on this sort of thing at all or you'd realize that. None of those are unique passives anymore and do stack. Additionally their presence affects how much redemption heals.

If you have Ardent Censer, Forbidden Idol, Mikael's Crucible and Redemption, you'll have +48% increased heals and shields. This is further increased to +144% with Redemption's heal (48% × 3).

http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Redemption

To be clear, unnamed unique passives do stack on each other. All the items you mention do not have a name and seem to simply fall into the loophole. Riot is more than aware of it and have not changed this interaction to date, so it appears they are ok with it stacking.

the wiki was never changed to correctly point out it now longer works like that, there is a reason we in the high elo dont use them together, because they no longer stack as proof of using them like that in actual games and you only get the first one you bought as a bonus.

looks like you need to brush up on your information.

i know about that and yet again, regardeless of the type of Unique passive, it is only allowed to have one active, meaning, lethality should not have more then one active for being Unique.

this is why lethality have been a nightmare to level, because they have not fixed he issue of it being a Unique Passive because even tanks with a ton of armour get melted by it because of the fact no lethality is complete with out a Black cleaver with says tanks are useless

Honestly. make Lethality melee only. Solves a lot of problems.

Ranged buying BC? Reduce the armor shred by half. GG Problems solved.

Fix the items before trying to fix the champions.

Seems high elo is still stacking the items. You can even see it on high elo casts that they have been. It's fine if it's your personal preference not to, but as stated by the Riot post, they are additive.

You seem confused at the idea of them being unique, but the only point to that was so that duplicate items could not be stacked. Riot stated that themselves. Unique items can be stacked for the heal/shield passive.

Additionally the wiki gets updated on a constant basis, but your pet theory is they overlooked this one specific case. Interesting logic you have there.

As a final point:

http://www.lolnexus.com/champions/soraka

So I guess you'll have to explain to Aphromoo that he's building Soraka wrong...

Busty Demoness1 votes

Let me stop you by first saying the current problem is Duskblade.

It grants 2 REALLY strong passives. One for ward control and one for a burst of damage once you're out of sight for 1 second.

The passives need to be split onto two different items.

Leave Duskblade as the Ward Helper

Move the on-hit damage to a serrated upgrade without CDR, then adjust the on-hit damage number and effect to be more akin to "first attack against an enemy champion deals bonus damage, cannot be applied to same champion for 15 seconds".
