Why is Karma's AA range 525?
One could argue her AA range is kept deliberately low because she has
A) The ability to shield herself (Other champions with the ability to shield themselves tend to have lower auto attack ranges such as 
and 
)
B) Her AA's lower her ultimate cooldown.
HOWEVER, 
lacks a couple things that make me wish her AA range was a standard 550. She does not have harass that goes through minions. Her shield does not give an offensive steroid (nor do her AA's have any offensive steroid whatsoever).
This wouldn't be a major buff. But please, as a main, I have played hundreds of games of her in every lane. She simply struggles to compete with the hyper mobile meta, and she doesn't have the wave clear of other mages to compensate. This would not overpower her as a support either, for 
has much stronger auto attacks than (and can harass through minions) and she has 550 range...And she has one of the lowest win rates for a support atm.
