Does Leona need an update?

Like a lot of other supports before their reworks, Leona's kit feels old and stale. There's really only one way to play her, and that's with an "all in" playstyle. She either gets the kill when she goes in (or she does enough damage that her team can finish the enemy off), and if she doesn't she's pretty much useless the rest of the fight. If Leona ever does get a rework, I'd like to have multiple ways to play her. I don't know if preserving her "all in" playstyle is the best way to do it, but I feel like Leona shouldn't be completely useless after she goes in.

well that is one way to play her... is the engage all in aspect

but you can actually use her very very defensively in fights with her shield, q , and e and ult you can peel like crazy if you get out of the mindset of going ham on engages

but she is ok for what she is the issue is the meta in bot lane with the burst mages kinda just well fwk her ... you can still play her just have to be very very picky on engages /trades

I don't see why burst mages fuck her. If you get the engage, you and a Marksman should be able to blow up whatever you catch.

as a support in bot lane , brand, annie etc with their poke and burst kinda keep her at bay. and when the enemy bot lane has two damage sources and your lane has one, (the adc ) the advantage goes to the 2 damage dealers in lane. therefore unless you make a really good pick or they badly misplay the meta with the burst mage supports kinda puts her down a peg or two

Because after you engage, they just ignore you and 1v2 your adc. That's why mages like Malz, Zyra, Brand, etc. are a nightmare for Leona in the 2v2 lane.

Yes. My biggest problem with Leona is how her only "support" aspect beyond just CC is her passive, and it becomes negligible as the game goes on since it doesn't scale with anything.

She is basically just an Amumu all things considered.

I honestly hope they leave her be. Been having most success with her of all my support champs lately. Like someone else said, just picky about engaging and using my ult to mess with people then tanking and blocking skill shots aimed at my adc. Plus it feels great when you do go all in and get a couple kills lined up for your team.

She can play defensive, her tools just aren't as strong but they get the job done in a pinch. Leona is fine, the only thing I would change is how her Armor / MR buff works but even then I don't mind having some pretty simple to use champs like that.

I'd buff her AP scaling, add some AD scaling, and also maybe a tweak to her E: make it a poke that she can recast to dash to the target if it hits a champion. It's pronably her biggest flaw, and also what makes her extremely hard to solo lane, because she can't use it to reach dying minions or poke the enemy champion without a full engage. She's somewhat viable as an AP assassin or AD bruiser, but it feels even clunkier than her support role. Just a little bit of a buff for her and she's golden like the sun.

EDIT: I don't think she needs a full rework like Urgot or Evelynn, she just needs a buff so she's not stuck as a support 99% of the time, and a tweak to her overall playstyle.
