What keeps you playing League?

I (try to) play LoL anywhere from once a day to a few times per week. Lately less.

Every time I decide to get on and play, I'm immediately met with some bullshit. Either the enemy team bans my champ, my own team bans my champ, dodges upon dodges, eternal queues, my team starts flaming, etc. I'll watch a youtube video and remember that League can sometimes be fun, then immediately remember oh not really.

And when you run into the strangely common team-banners, Riot never follows up on the reports. Unless someone is literally running down mid and spamming the chat with naughty buzzwords, you will never get any report feedback.

This all happens in normals and rank just makes everything worse with higher pressure.

An addiction though my interest has waned greatly since about season 5 or 6 because for a long time, it used to be a social thing for me. I played more in season 7 and early season 8(before 8.11) because I was on a Bronze/Silver team and, again, it was social. When I don't have friends or anything playing, however, I really only play to play Tristana. I'm competitive and I enjoy doing well on her; its a big rush.

That said, the amount I play has dropped significantly. I play a game once a day, maybe, and that's largely because I work 40 hours a week and I'm playing after work.

You could give Hearthstone a try. I'd be playing it more if it wasn't such a fuckin grind-fest and unlike League, you must grind if you want to be competitive. In League you could buy Annie for 450 BE and rape the ladder all the way to Challenger.

The massive amount of time and money i put into it, the feeling of it being fun to play is a distant dream i long for in the cold dark nights, Riot has failed so hard these last few years its sad, so now i drop 100 bucks a week on Apex lootboxes, until i have all skins, because Riot dosnt use my money how they should

Honestly? I been playing it for this long, and there's no other MOBAs that I like.

Smite and DOTA 2 are ugly and don't interest me. Heroes of the Storm is so boring. I played Awesomenauts for a while which is like a 2D MOBA which was a lot of fun, but also slightly unbalanced and nobody plays it anymore.

So when I want my MOBA fix, League is all I got.

The game is full of low lows that make you quit and go bitch on the boards.

It's also full of crazy, epic, and sometimes hilarious moments that keeps people playing.

What keeps me playing? That moment when you ult into the middle of the enemy team and melt them all in about 2 seconds after that with item 3085 item 3043 item 3153 item 3124 on Kayle . I shit you not, there is no greater experience than that.

The fact that I learnt every single champion and item in this game which makes it such a big investment that I can't be arsed to move to Dota 2 and try the same shit again.

Even though Dota 2 is a far better game and I would suggest any newcomer to not play LoL.

Lack of options. I always like to be deep into one high skill cap game i can say im good at, and right now there rly isnt much else. Gaming industry as a whole is just kind of struggling.

If someone would make a better game with a good depth to it id uninstall today.

I genuinely enjoy playing it? Right now I’m grinding for tokens in my free time to get that Irelia skin.

It offers a lot of unique and dynamic play styles that I enjoy and lots of my friends and my boyfriend play the game so it still functions as a good group activity.

Sure balance can be annoying sometimes but it’s never really the end of the world. Most of my champ pool, including my main are what people would consider “cancer champs” anyways.

It's fun to play, friends love it too and a man premade is just amazing sometimes. Game has a simple premise but is pretty complex and learning new things every time, like mechanics or new champs. You can play 10k games and still learn new things every new game and every game feels different. A lot of ways to express your self and there are a lot of champs that you can main. Mast 7 satisfying to get, every single time. I kinda like Riot a lot too. They've shown me that they are a good company, although the boards seem to disagree with me.

Recently, i'm not plaing it at all... But whenever i feel the urge to play it befor i'm fed up with riots bullshit once again, it's because i love the idea of mobas, and i love runeterra, and LoLs core is great, animations, sfx and vfx go hand in hand and just feel well rounded, the controlls are smooth and allow for fast combos and very fluid gameplay(oppsed to dota which feels like lol wih a 500 ping), you always have controll over your champ and the visuals provid supprisingly much lcearity for how much is going on, and LoL is still top of the pack in these things, but then riot went from one bad design decision to another and another and another and anot....and now everything beyond that core kinda sucks

Though the main reason to go back to LoL ever so often is that back in it's glory days, league just suffocated the copetition and now no one is there to challange them. DotA 2 comapred to lol is like battlefield to CS, sure both are FPS, but they are still quite different. If dawngate wasn't canncled back in the day, i would have swaped long ago when S6 hit, but right now, there is no compareable game to fill that niche.

It's a combination of things. My friends play sometimes and I like playing with. I can't find a better game because I get motion sickness easily. I like to have fun trying new builds and keep a lackadaisical attitude towards getting one shot (though it gets harder when I'm trying to play more seriously) I still meet cool people on here even though so many people complain about toxic people you just gotta look in the right place. Find all the eggs out there and make some egg friends man...

When I have time and feel bored. Lol is my time killer, and since I don't play ranked it is very calming. I still try to win, but if I or someone on my team is losing I no longer get mad.

I like to see the clown fiestas in my games quite halirous when I compare to the clown fiestas back in the old days. Its annoying but quite enjoyable. Treat ranked as like a normals, looked for teams and scrim with other teams and tournaments.

I think the satisfaction after a long hard game. It rare. But when you realize what a good player you are, oh man then You have nothing to fear. I'll give you that. Luck isn't always for us. That's why we have to press the goddamn accept. Because even when everything is sheet, we will play, we will give 100% of ourselves and we will prove what we deserve. And then we will win. And if not in the game, in ourselves.

To be honest nothing. That's why I don't play it as much anymore, it's no longer fun and it feels like a waste of time. 90% of time when someone is finished playing League for the day they will most likely be stressed from all the toxicity they had to deal with in their games among other things.

A couple of things. I love the champions for how different they all are and the ones I love to play keep me here because no other game has them. I love the high impact moments of the game where it becomes kill or be killed. There are many flaws but they don't outweigh how much fun I have playing it.

It's a lack of anything else worth playing. I do play other games. There isn't anything I like playing all day. I get bored easily. At least League games are short.
