By giving us , it literally made my main capable of affording to dive the enemy team and not get destroyed in seconds like in the past. Due to Leona's kit, not only do I gain an additional 40+ armor / mr because of having 3+ enemies around, but the active allows her to gain massive health (40%) and since i'm a support, the 60% damage reduction doesn't matter on me. What matters is surviving when I need to peel / secure kills for my teammates.

Seriously, thank you Riot. I'm winning with her now, which .... it feels really good. It's nice to finally do my job without the fear of dying in vain. Praise the sun my friends, praise the sun.

Well the manga, as a whole, is. It's literally about this really feminine looking boy who was turned into a girl just because a certain goddess wanted to prank a random human.

I think item 3193 was very well designed. A tank item that gives a tank everything they need, but because of the reduced damage output the active gives, it's likely that it won't be used by stuff like juggernauts, skirmishers, maybe some divers. A tank's main job is CC and taking a hit, and Stoneplate helps them do the latter.

I see your Chogath and raise you an Aatrox . By using Stoneplate right before Aatrox goes into his revive state, he'll get the bonus health making his revive give him more health (It scales off 30% of his max health). And the active will wear off by the time the revive ends, so he isn't negatively affected by the reduced damage from the Stoneplate active.

So long as you use it to survive for 4 seconds, you can use it on anyone. It's especially good on Mundo because it doubles the Hp5 from his passive and is practically a free heal.

I feel like I should try building Stoneplate on Koggers at some point.

Idea is pretty simple. Kog with Rageblade and one other attack speed item takes about four seconds to spool up and start melting face with eight Rageblade stacks. Usually Kog needs to pop his W to get that stacking done since waddling into his un-boosted attack range is suicide, giving him only four seconds of boosted W power. The damage nerf effect on Stoneplate lasts four seconds.

So?

Waddle up to the enemy Tank and right click them.

Pop Stoneplate when three beefy dudes inevitably dog-pile Koggers.

When Stoneplate's damage nerf effect wears off, pop BAB with full Rageblade stacks and go to town on whatever unfortunate asshole is in range. This gives Kog the whole 8 seconds of BAB's uptime effectively hitting for 12% max HP damage rather than four since Stoneplate will always allow Kog to stack up due to the massive durability boost it affords.

Given the degree to which Kog is both a 'Go Button' Marksmen along with having windup time due to Rageblade, I suspect he's one of the few heavily offensive champs that synergize well with Stoneplate. The only other two that really come to mind are Cho and maybe Olaf due to the sheer amount of True Damage they deal.

This would be considered an abuse case, wouldn't it?

It does, yeah. But you still have the wind-up issue with Rageblade. That's what got me thinking about Stoneplate on Koggers. It takes ~4 seconds for Kog to spool up and the damage nerf lasts for four seconds. Once Rageblade kicks in Kog's damage jumps massively, so he ends up with the full 8 seconds of augmented BAB instead of just 4. Helpful, since waddling into Kog's basic attack range with something is usually suicide, so the extra bulk is handy.

Picking up Gunblade and BotRK probably wouldn't be a terrible idea, though. Lifesteal scales in power with both offense and mitigation after all. Eighty of both resists would help him get quite a bit of mileage out of the lifesteal.

You see an item designed to give diving tanks survivability.

I see fizz 100-0'ing a character and getting double his hp and a huge armor/mr buff that lasts long enough to get troll pole back up.

I see a one stop suitability shop for assassins that will be abused by everyone but its intended target and get nerfed into the ground. Who's ready to see all defensive items nerfed again because tank rengar is trending again.

I honestly hope I am wrong in the end. But I've been right about everything else so far. [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

Because most assassins rely on their cooldowns to deal meaningful damage anyway. They are not marksmen which deal a constant stream of damage, they have burst windows.

It could be possible that an assassin is going in, using all his skills and then activate the item to get the survivability while waiting for his cooldowns to be up again.

Not saying it has to be like that and it will definitely happen. Just pointing out that there could happen something like that.

Because some Assassins (or assassin-y Divers) blow their rotation and are left in a 'Now what?' situation. Panth comes to mind right off hand. Sure, you can stand around poking people with your spear, but being able to survive for a second QWEQ rotation is probably more helpful.

Basically, Stoneplate has the potential to be utilized by champions who have windowed damage and who expect to get focused.

80 armor + 80 mr + 100% bonus hp when you in range for it

Most tank items are just some health and 100 armor/mr if theyre expensive ones. Gargoyles is gonna get nerfed at some point, thats way too much bonus. I think the idea of a pure mixed defense item to replace GA makes sense but you can build this on almost any bruiser/tank.

A lot of tanks do not want to deal damage however. The concept is good, but the active is incredibly powerful. Nobody would dare attack an 7000 HP Leona stacked up in resistances. Also, it could be busted on champions like Darius and Cho Gath who have ultimates that do true damage. Cho especially, his ult scales off health.

I'd say it needs some tuning down. I hope they don't completely obliterate it though.

Don't forget the 20% scaling on eclipse. So in a dive scenario, that becomes 48/96

Also, it synergies nicely with her passive. Since sunlight damage is accredited to the ally the popped it, not Leona.

While it is awesome that you have such a good score on her, you've only played 9 games. Before GS came out, I would of liked seeing you use her over 100+ games and tell me if she was as good as the healer / enchanters running rapid.
