So who’s ready for it to be made into a melee only item or completely gutted, like every other defensive tool and adc has ever touched.

Same. But let’s be honest. Every defensive tool Adc has ever used has been taken away or gutted. Saving life steal for some reason.

Honestly it might end up being ranged only. Melee champions already have Steraks and they share a named passive meaning they don't stack, the stronger one will proc and the weaker one will just not do anything.

I can’t see it being range only. The only reason runnan’s is ranged only is because riot couldn’t code it for melee.

Most melee save for Trynd and Yas wouldn't even want it. Who wants 25% crit, some attack speed, and no AD?

Because the only item in the game that is ranged only is that way because riot couldn’t code it for melee champions.

As of right now it looks like Yas is performing very well with it so he will likely be nerfed as he is not the intended user. As such it doesn't matter why Runaans is ranged only, that isn't the topic. The topic is that PD will not be made melee only, it's not gonna happen.

Except in this instance they’re having it designed for them. Cleaver is abuse at worst, and synergy at best. Steraks was a severe abuse case though.

How was it abuse? They built an item that helped them defensively.

Does that mean garen and Darius are abusing triforce right now? Does that mean every jungler is abusing smite?

Does that mean assassins are abusing duskblade of braindead?

PD was made to be used by ranged adcs.

Melees already have steraks, which gives more stats for its price, pd is like 70% something cost efficient, so you're playing a lot of stats for the passives.
