With the recent Balance Trends, I feel like I should quit League and start doing other stuff
I'm starting to get pretty disaffected by the recent balance trends.
I play off-meta (personally I'm a Garen main though I'm sure players that main other off meta champs will also feel this pain
and many others ) and it feels SO BAD to play this game now.
I've been passionate about the game, and I like to think I've been a positive force in the community, but the meta is so strictly enforced these days. If you play a weaker champ, you face a massively uphill battle just to break even with your opponents that spam meta.
It's becoming less and less fun, and ranked is starting to feel like a chore. Patch after patch rolls out and the same champs are consistently strong, going in and out of meta, while a different set of champs is consistently left in the gutter, patch, after patch, after patch. I hold out hope that after my champ being so weak for so long, he will finally receive a buff which will make him semi-viable again, but it never happens.
I understand that Riot is a company that makes money selling skins, and the most popular champions should be the most powerful because they sell the most skins. But this leaves all the other champions in a vicious cycle where because they don't make the company money, they're left weak, so players don't play them, so they don't buy skins for them, so they never get buffed. The disparity between strong champs and weak champs is growing so large that at a certain point you're basically trolling your team by playing your favorite champion.
I'm not sure what to do but I'm starting to think playing League might not be part of it anymore. Maybe I'll go look for new games to play or other stuff to do outside.
as a first item is a must in AD oriented top lanes for immobile melee champs, so try getting that on Garen. Rush as much health as you can - damage comes secondary. Never rush black cleaver unless you get first blood.
