As a support, how do i deal with caitlyn?

Tanks are meh because she can just trap --> crit ---> E crit loop. Utility doesnt work because its hard to run away properly because of her mobility. And mages are hit and miss due to how hard her poke hits.

Any ideas on a support that effectively deals with caitlyn, kit vs kit?

Blitzcrank/Thresh, you just hook her in and keep her there.

I tend to try to stay away from her and focus on bullying her support. Like anyone that has a big advantage over you, try to play it safe and get them to overextend for an easy gank from your jungler, or jump on them when they've used their abilities while you and your ADC haven't.

Simply countering her Braum should be pretty good with his shield, but otherwise you should be able to use anything and just focus on not stepping in her traps and go in when she can't do as much damage (Headshot and Net just used).

Most caitlyns ive played against also play with a support with CC. Zyra, leona, thresh, brand, annie, karma, sona... any slow is a half health or more chunk because of her WAAEAA loop =/

Its one of the reasons im having such a hard time dealing with caitlyn, honestly. She was never meant to have a W like this.

If you feel a particular matchup will eat you for breakfast, don't be afraid to tell your ADC to be passive and farm and you just pick up Ancient Coin and focus on staying out of reach. You can actually come out ahead by denying their strengths that way then beat them later as a team.

Fair advice but unrelated to the question i posed. "Any ideas on a support that deal with caitlyn kit for kit?"

Im asking about hard counters here - stuff like zyra and pre-rework taric.

My point is that you should play what you want. It is far more important at low elo to be good at and enjoy what you're using than trying to counter-pick, you will get better results.

i... respectfully disagree because "play what you want" isnt an answer to the question i posed. Nor is it a relevant response to caitlyn, because caitlyn has the burst of a fed AP mage with just a BF sword and an extremely forgiving W auto-crit duration... and combined with a support with CC it because extremely easy to poke out everything in the early game with a combination of god-tier poke, guaranteed mini-crits, hard CC, and self-peel that also has a guaranteed crit...

... which leads to the question; What possible support deals with caitlyn, kit for kit?

Depends on who your adc is. For the most part, if you're up against Cait, this is what I would do as each type of support:

Tank: go in and pretend you're actually going to do something when you notice that your adc will go in to get farm that way Cait will feel pressured. If she does not attack you and goes for your adc instead, go in on her if you got a gap closer.

Utility (Not Heals): Same as above except use your utility as pressure. Ex: Lulu can E her ADC when she/he goes for farm, then W cait + Q.

Utility (Heals): Same as utility not heals.

Damage: Same as Utility. Do not waste your mana trying to poke outside of keeping your adc safe as they go in to farm.

Your second claim I feel is a bit of an over statement. Mainly because she only has one actual mobility spell, and 90-calubur net's effect makes it a better disengage than chasing tool. More likely the real problem is her range, as it basically allows her to trade favorably before itemization becomes a factor.

I feel it slightly difficult to come up with a specific counter to cait. Historically, Cait had a weakness in the mid game, where her her range became less effective, but before she had her major items. But since the ADC update, that mid level power trough is mitigated by the siege wall, as people are able to max her traps first. Which gave her a fair power curve throughout the game.

You might try Morgana, using her black shield to negate the CC from caitlyn's traps. And her Snare will make her less able to chase if you can land it. (Hard to say for sure, Morgana hasn't been meta particularly recently)

... Why am i getting so many downvotes for an actual question/discussion?
