I've thougth that all people saying that Ryze is broken was just nonsense, until I've faced now...

...a Ryze that was actually good.

Early game, he managed to kill both the Vi and Aatrox of my team alone, even with Vi ulting him.

I was Malzahar and I tried to roam to kill him because he was under 20% health, but he still managed to kill me even though I was full health and I had my silence. I didn't had ult, though, while he probably had his ult because he suddenly bursted me down and healed himself and I didn't even had a chance to react.

I tried to focus him with my ult, but then Ryze purchased a item 3140 and this strategy stopped working. Nobody on our team could 1x1 him, he was really fed. We were pretty much forced to 5x1 him to be able to kill him.

Fortunately, Ryze was the only real threat on the enemy team. Once he died, we could easily win teamfights and we were able to push, destroy the enemy towers, and win the game. However, this battle made me realize that Ryze is a force to be reckoned. I am thinking that Ryze can be a good ban after all.

Speaking of which, does Riot really wants Ryze to be a late game champion? Because with the way that Ryze currently works, it seems like he is more of a mid game champion that falls off late game because he is squishy and easy to focus during teamfights (which is completely different from the old Ryze, which could scale very well into late game, but was still broken because he still had a pretty good early/mid game against melees)
