Can we please stop with armor penetration? Or buff tank items back to when they were actually good?

With the new item on PBE you can get 50.4 flat armor penetration with Precision and ArPen Marks with a viable build. + Duskblade, boots + 2 other items of choice. If you decide to build Black Cleaver you additionally have up to 30% armor shred.

On top of that we have 45% bonus armor penetration from / if anyone decides to build tank-ish.

Armor has been nerfed so fucking hard ever since patch 5.16, it feels awful to play a tank when you still get melted no matter what.

People complain that everyone builds Deadman's Plate, but that's only because all other armor items were absurdly nerfed. There was a day everyone would rush Randuin's, now that item barely sees the light of day.

people don't buy item 3742 because item 3143 got nerfed, people buy because it enables tanky champions to do their jobs; get into fights. the movement speed is the most attractive stat on the item, as tanks and juggernauts are slow melee champions without the mobility offered by other classes, and are therefore very vulnerable to being kited.

even if item 3143 got an absolutely absurd buff that left it completely overpowered without any doubts, people would still buy item 3742 along with it.

Randuin's was an example. All armor items got nerfed.

Deadman's Plate is the only good armor item left, with the exception of Iceborn Gauntlet (which was buffed in the pre-season) and Frozen Heart, but those are restricted to mana champions and a lot of tanks don't use mana.

Maokai, Malphite, Nasus, Volibear, Nautilus, Udyr, Taric, Hecarim, Cho'Gath, Blitzcrank, Alistar,Warwick, Skarner, Jarvan, Rammus, Sejuani, Leona, Trundle, Tahm Kench, Sion, Darius, Olaf, and Braum all can use FH and/or IBG because they're mana tanks. These are more than half of all champs that are considered tanks. There are a few that I didn't list because FH or IBG just don't fit with their kit, e.g. Singed, Amumu, Wukong, Galio, Xin Zhao (yes, he's still listed as a tank), Illaoi.

The ones that are manaless are: Aatrox (same as Xin. uhhh?), Mundo, Garen, Gnar, Renekton, Shen, Shyvana, Vladimir, ZAC.

I just prefer HP to mana anyway. I'd love a tank item that had HP, Mana, and Armor. Kind of like how Banshee's used to be, but not as important as that because that spell block is needed for any champ. Catalyst + Chain vest or Warden's Mail would work.
