It's a reference to a joke stemming from the old forums where the most complained about champions were Nidalee and Akali. For Nid, usually people would say ''just dodge the spears'' and for Akali people would say ''just buy a pink ward'' so at some point both forms of counterplay got put together in the form of sarcastic counterplay advice

Just so you know, people avoided putting points into Ez's W early because it's literally not worth the mana to cast without thunderlord's, and NOT because his other spells are so strong.

Generally all Melee AP assassins get some help for last hitting in their kit, to make up for both being melee and not getting to build AD to help last hit normally. Diana has her passive and really high AoE damage, Ekko his W and passive, and Fizz his W and E. If they didn't have such things, last hitting on them would be insanely hard, pretty much removing their ability to lane period.

TotalJerk3 votesBecause Ekko was SUPPOSED to be a teamfight assassin of sorts that lacked upfront damage, and instead relied on utility and teamwork. My guess is that the rest of his damage was supposed to be meh, but he'd set the rest of his teammates up to whittle them down, then he'd clean up.
Instead we just ended up with yet another assassin who's MO is to basically wait for an opening, then throw fucking everything at a squishy.

Make his W double this value during its effect and cut down the bonus range E normally gives by 50

But yes...I also max it second when playing AD or Hybrid. It's only important because it fits Tristana's niche so well, but it's pretty much useless when comparing it to like...every other Ability in League. Did you know that her Q used to cost Mana?

It's the best attack speed steroid out of all ADCs with the exception of Kog'maw, obviously.
But I agree it feels lackluster in comparison to other skills. Maybe they should make it like Miss Fortune and add a passive alongside it.

I hate to break it to you but Kog right now is considered to actually be one of the weakest champions in the game.
He's a completely immobile sniper that: Has poor range to safely attack even though he's meant to be a sniper, damage that isn't scaled up high enough to make up for his lack of durability, No durability to make up for his lack of mobility, and finally a passive that does not fit in with the rest of his kit and rarely helps him in any way besides a way to break even in kill trading.

Because it must have nothing to do with an enemy champion, except maybe poke in Zed's case if they're too far to E, but that's not a problem with their kit design but a built-in limitation of his kit.
