Played a couple games as Lux with arcane comet, then tried Aery
Arcane comet is underwhelming as hell and needs a buff, its kinda sad that a support keystone is better on a mage than a mage keystone.

Shouldn't landing your snare with lux be a guaranteed hit with comet?
I mean, in any situation where you would pick comet, you're better off taking aery. Aery is by far the most used keystone, it'll prob be nerfed
Doesn't her E have a slow too? Perhaps they should make aerie scale harder for the shield application, and reduce damage on it. Perhaps give the damage an increased effectiveness with %heal and shield power
The problem is if they go buffing arcane comet, it nullifies the point of electrocute. Neither Comet or Aery are supposed to be some giant burst keystone. Aery is for more sustained damage, and comet is more on the side of frequency compared to electrocute. If you don't like comet, just use Aery. Problem solved. Personally I disagree with you, and believe it depends on the situation you'll be in. If I know I'll be able to get autos off on the enemy without taking a chunk of damage instantly in return, I might go aery / electrocute, where as if I know I'm vs someone that outranges me, or I don't want to get near them, Ill take comet for the saftey.
Aery only becomes more efficient if you're able to use her a minimum of 3 times in a 20 second timespan compared to arcane comet. Of course it's do-able, but I believe comet to be more reliable in terms of damage and safety for yourself depending on who you're vs.
I dont think Electrocute would be nullified if they did the same damage because of how Arcane Comet is dodgeable, and both of them are AoEs.
Regardless if comet is dodgeable, it has less than half the CD of electrocute early game as it is; further reduced by landing additional spells. If they buff the damage, the reliability of electrocute won't be worth it compared to comet, because landing it even once would make up for it; not to mention it's activated by a single spell, rather than 3 different hits of damage. They all have their niche uses.
Electrocute is a guaranteed hit on your target, and has good base damage ontop of the best scaling, .5 AD or .3 for AP, but is balanced by a hefty CD and the fact that you need to land 3 instances of damage to activate it.
Arcane comet does decent damage and has .2 AP and .35 AD ratios with a relatively short CD, but is balanced by its unreliability to hit and it's semi low base damage.
Summon Aery has the worst base damage and scaling out of all of them; 20-60 base damage with .1 AP and 1.5 AD ratios respectively and even includes a team oriented aspect to it (30-80 shield 2.5AP / 4 AD ratio), but is balanced around not having a hard CD, it's reliability to hit, and the frequency at which you can use it with any damage including auto attacks.
Basically one is for all in, one is for occasional poke, and one is for a more aggressive spam oriented playstyle. They're all really designed for different purposes; and imo it just really depends on the matchup. In summation, buffing arcane comet damage is going to push it into electrocute territory without the drawback of the massive CD, which would make electrocute pointless unless they buffed it as well, and that's why we're at the point we're at now. Powercreep isn't fun
Arcane Comet is only good if you have a lot of spell hits to tick down the cooldown. Lux does not have that. You tried it on the wrong champion.
You don't need CC to use it. It usually averages like 80% hit rate regardless.
