Honestly, Season 5 had a better Trinket System

This isn't one of those "Season 6 sucks, Season 5 was so much better" threads. I think Season 6 has a lot of things going for it.

But the current state of trinkets is a bit...underwhelming. The fact you can't have until level 9, can't get from trinkets, and the quite high CD on all are bothersome.

Honestly, vision in general feels off balance this season. It's harder to get, at the same time getting items and snowballing is more important than ever.

There's a sightstone available as a jungle item, supports buy them too. 5 pink wards for a full team out at once, they cost less than before. and mini wards last forever. Sure, I miss having all the gold items in season 4 and having 2 stacks of 5 green wards and lighting up the enemy jungle. All that can be compensated with a little common sense.

It was done with intent, though. The problem Riot saw was that the high amounts of vision was leading to less risk-taking and a huge dip in power for pick comps/champions, so everybody was playing a tightly controlled game with no picks or risks and huge emphasis on gaining control through objectives. They're trying to force players to make more calculated risks so that games are more interesting and can be closed out faster without an absolute dependency on flawless rotations.

I think having restricted access to blue wards is a good thing., as well. I do, however, agree that a pink ward trinket should still be a thing. Players should be able to make the choice between running double sweepers and free pinks.

Except games are still dragging as people don't take risks, because one mistake/lost teamfight can easily lose you the game now.

It's much better now, though. Average game time last year hovered just over the 40 min mark. This split most games are closing out closer to the 30 mark and junglers can actually exert pressure without being watched everywhere they go.
