I thought it was supposed to be hard to climb let these people actually deserve their rank instead of appeasing trash

So, you're saying that those of us who have proven that we've gotten to the promos at least once, but lost due to trolls, afks, scripters, etc shouldn't be allowed to climb because of previous factors?

This is a team game, and it's easy for people outside of your control to ruin your game experience. I welcome this change.

Yes. Because you also gain LP due to trolls, afks, etc. You actually get more LP than you lose from it. And getting to promos and constantly failing doesn't prove you deserve the next rank. It means you deserve that rank 100 LP.

you ever been to promos several times in a row only to lose two games due to circumstances outside of your control? By getting to promos again you prove that you are around that level of play.

I failed my g5 promos 13 times season four. Did I blame anyone but myself? No. If I was good as I am now I would've breezed through that shit Did I need handouts to get to plat season four? No, I'm not a god damn shitter

You may not be a "shitter" but you have a real shitty attitude, which is def worse.

You're probably right, but people begging for higher rank are worse than support mains demanding praise for mediocrity

if you did make it through using this "handout" and do not deserve your new rank then you will quickly get demoted. What riot is addressing with this issues is a "pain point" many players have been sling shotting within a division and eventually give up because it seams pointless and frustrating to continue.

What riot is addressing with this issues is a "pain point" many players have been sling shotting within a division and eventually give up because it seems* pointless and frustrating to continue.

Maybe because it's something riot can't address without saying "win one game and you're challenger1!!1!!11!!1" Because players who aren't good are gonna find walls, and in these situations, you either get good, or you don't climb. People who complain about promos are just mad that they don't deserve next rank, and I understand that can be frustrating and that most people don't want to accept that they are just bad at the game. but get the fuck over it

It only changed when a person has already made it into promos more then once........ It then puts it at a 50% chance instead of either a 66% or 60% needed to succeed. This seems legit and fair.

Joe Dredd1 votes

You only have to win one to pass while you have to lose two to fail. That's not legit or fair, that's giving babies who won't get good (literally) what they want And if you can't pass promos maybe you don't deserve the next rank. Have you ever put any consideration into that?

Ever thought "Maybe I might be a epeen asshat?". If not you might want to do some self evaluation.

The difference between tiers is actaully very small. If you can consistently make it to promos you prolly belong in the next tier. If however you are bouncing between 0-99 lp then you are probably where you belong.

So yes I have thought about it. However I also know that win streaks happen so I agree with it being the second time you get to promos. This shows you can get to promos multiple times. Also if you dont belong you will quickly falll back down.

Joe Dredd1 votes

The same can be said vice versa If you consistently fail promos you should belong in the tier you're in. It makes no fucking sense to give people free wins

Anomander1 votes

Actually because the percentage win required to win a promo is drastically higher then win percentage between tiers so no the same cannot be said.

Requiring a 60-66% win rate to go up a tier is not even close to the % of games needed to progressively gain LP or mmr.

Your mmr will increase with anything over a 50% win rate.(over enough games) However 50% is not enough to go up a tier in the existing system. Even if you have a 59% win rate showing you belong in a higher tier and having a much higher mmr then your rank it is still not statistically enough to advance in the current system. Meaning a person of gold+ skill can actually get trapped in Silver or even lower. Based on nothing more then Luck.

Now eventually Yes they will rank up. But oh wait your matchmaking has nothing to do with your actual rank. It has to SOLELY with your Hidden MMR Which is designed to keep your winrate close to 50%. Meaning the More you win the harder it actually is to promote out of a rank/tier. All this system change does is make it far less likely to get Trapped. And should Over time more accurately place individuals.

While there is not ELO/MMR Hell. There is a Rank hell.

Joe Dredd1 votes

Actually, if your mmr is much higher than your rank you start skipping promos and divisions. And, You only need a 51% win rate to get promoted. Even if it's just WLWLWLWLWLWW that instance where the two wins happens back to back is enough to promote you. stop being a whiny bitch and accept that you all are bad and deserve your ranks and nothing higher.
