How do you counter veigar?
It seems like no matter how much magic resist I get his damage is still very high. Playing vs him means that I won't have much armor for the ADCs usually. Other than Morgana's shield and banshees how do you counter veigar?

You counter him by showing him his Win Rate. He'll go into shock and die because of how high it is. It's not nearly as high as Skarner's, though, but it's around average 60%. That's like the new norm of new Champs Rito's making, because they can't seem to find it possible to balance anything they're doing (or listening to anything their community says for that matter).
As which champion? Veigar is created to counter AP champs(especially mages), not to be countered by them.
Well, you can kill him at least several times early, if he doesn't play safe. Also gank other lanes, his roaming isn't good. If you don't finish the game on time - 20-25 minutes, Veigar will carry.
He's terrible at mobility. His only advantage is that he can zone and burst something down. Don't let it get to the point where he's gotten so much AP that it's just clicking R or even just W. Champs that counter him are champs with mobile skills since not all skills get stopped by his Event Horizon an example is Fizz using Trickster to E out of the Horizon then proceed to combo him. If it does get to late game where he's at 1k+ AP the best item imo is GA since, he can only R once if he does R you and you die well he just blew his nuke and can only harass with the other 3 skills assuming he lives that long. The main problem I see is people getting caught in his E and letting him scale into late game where it becomes a game of whether or not he lands his E or not to start the team fight. Another thing is to watch the ground for the shadows of his abilities, his W is quite easy to dodge by just sidestepping the same goes for watching the animation of Event Horizon going off.
