ive literally just watched a gangplank go from 150 ss to 500 ss in the matter of 5 minutes
150 by 20 minutes, 500 by 25 minutes.
that waveclear. wow. the game is currently at 33 minutes and hes at 350 again.

Yeah, if he's left alone and abuses E it's easy to get a ton of them.

just as i typed it, i looked into the game again and hes at 500 again. now 35 minutes into the game. i feel like people who dont get the ss together in 1 game for 1 upgrade dont seem to know the barrels can clear an entire wave for bonus gold and serpents with the q.
the tooltip says he has 1600 gold from his q alone.
i take everything back. gp is still a melee adc. the way he can extend the range of his q with the barrels and hit multiple people with the q damage, with an armor pen bonus is crazy.

Yep, I just assume anyone complaining don't know that either. Clearing with the barrels is the first thing I start doing when I'm left alone, I usually get 2 almost a 3rd upgrade in my games if my team isn't being stomped. He's a really good splitpusher thanks to them as well, not only to clear waves, but also to proc sheen.
You post this like that is a problem?

im not saying this is a problem. im saying im suprised, considering how many people said its impossible to get those serpents together for an upgrade. and that his barrels are useless.
ive seen him in really in action for the first time after his rework, and those barrels are strong as hell.

the gangplank i spectated also used the barrels by throwing one at his feet, usually into a bush or just in the open. then he threw a barrel into a group of enemies and immediately hit the one at his feet with a q to explode both and spread the damage.
it was really crazy how effective that was.
It's tough at first, but as soon as his Parrrley can 1 shot a minion, so can his barrel, and that means he can clear the whole wave easy.
After playing him a few times, I'm not surprised. At max ranks, his parley gives him 8 plunder per minion kill. 6 minions a wave, that's 48 plunder per wave. (not including the siege minion.)
Their also experimenting with a SS every second buff, on non SR game modes. This is pretty needed for ARAM and Dominion, but it might be Over kill on TT.
Also, I still haven't figured out the best upgrade to get first. Death's daughter seems good if you really want to kill someone, but it requires you to aim the center of your ult at the enemy, making less effective use of the ult's size. I'd almost rather have the Fire at will, or Raise moral upgrade, and increase it's zoning power.

yea, i cant believe people were complaining about the rework. it looks really awesome.
the guy i was spectating just went all out adc. he started with

when he managed to get a barrel off with his q on a couple of enemies in a teamfight, he absolutely destroyed them.

If you just hide in a bush, and have a central barrel in the bush, you can surprise people with the barrel explosion from a second barrel and Q and slaughter them if they aren't building defensive, and you're building critty/damage gp.
Sure, if youre left alone and get to use your E to clear waves, you get shit loads of SS (8 per CS).
But why is anyone being left alone that long?

he wasnt left alone much. he just farmed normally. ran up top lane pushed out 2 waves, ran mid, pushed out one there, and boom. a ton of extra gold and serpents.
its not like nasus who afk farms for 15 minutes. on the contrary. his waveclear was strong enough that he could farm those waves really quickly between teamfights.
i dont see that difficult to pull off pretty much any game.
Happens all the time in top lane.
