What Should I Have Done to get an S

Hello all, I'm not one to complain about the grading system, I find it accurate almost always. I just don't know what I'm missing in this one that I should have done so if you can investigate and stalk the match details can you explain why I didnt at least get an S-? Or even an A+, i just got an A. This is Silver 3 so the standard of play for Zac isn't astronomical and this is one of my best matches on him. I've done significantly worse and gotten an S so please just check it out and let me know where i screwed up performance wise, thanks! http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2256898749/217753639?tab=overview

Also please note Viktor Pantheon and Ashe all got S- or better!

The grading system is harsh when it comes to Farm.

Keep in mind that nobody really knows what all goes into the formula. We have all seen crazy stuff like you. Best thing to do is not worry about the grade and just play to win.

On a side note, I have gathered that at least the following are considered in the grade :

  • cs (not for supp)
  • kda (but I don't think it works on the traditional ratio k+a/d...I think they are each independent and add/sub points based on the pure number (how else would altering the weight of As for supports even be possible?)...also seems to me that every 5 k, d, or a (5, 10, 15) is a plateau to shoot for (like you get bonus points for hitting the 5th kill or the 10th kill, and lose extra for the 5th death)
  • warding (at least for supp)
  • game time (longer games require more numbers)

And the consensus also seems to be that you are judged against other players playing your champ. SO the whole scale is dynamic as well. Whether it's a bell curve or a straight function, who knows.

One thing I've personally noticed is that I got a lot more Ss when this rolled out. I had my first 6 two days after launch, and took another champ to 7 by the following day, and another 6 by the end of the weekend. Since then, I have only 2 more 6s and a handful of tokens for a few champs.

I'm mastery 7 Cait and 6 Leona. I've never worried about my rating, I just try to win. S ranks will come with winning. Have patience.

Getting S grades is essentially your stats compared to the top stats with that champion. Here is an example.

So if the top 5% of play grants S's for Zac having a KDA of 10/2/30 and 120 CS in a 35 minute game then you need to obtain a comparable stat line.

But what if all the Zac's get better? What if the top 5% begins to get 12/1/40 and 140 CS in a 35 minute game? It means that getting an S now has become harder because S scores are relative to the player base.

Some champions it is easier to get S's on because some do not often have really high KDAs.

I play Nasus pretty frequently and getting an S on him is relatively easy compared to other champions because the top % of Nasus player do not have very high stat lines. I could probably get an S going 9/2/10 with 200 CS in a 35 minute game and maybe 3 towers taken.
