Why is the minority of wins considered 'preference'? (ranked emblems)

I just earned my preference emblem. and what i do not understand is how 5 dynamic wins and 20 solo wins is considered a dynamic preference. If it isn't considered solo preference i should have no preference. 5 wins is not the majority of wins in any regard.
