Boards culture has been getting a bit heated about the meta so here's a few things you should remember.

You aren't a bad player if you play meta You're not an unskilled player if you main assassins You're not a sweaty tryhard if your main became meta and you want to play them in normals You're not metaslave trash if you run ignite and/or electrocute You're not a bad person for playing Yasuo (high correlation, but if you're a terrible person it's not because you play Yasuo) You're not "ruining someone else's fun" by picking good champions. That person is miserable and wants a reason to lash out and blame someone else. And just because you like the state of the game doesn't make you a reject kid from CoD

We're all here to have fun and play vidya. Let's try not to take it out on other people because their definition of fun isn't fun for us.

The problem is Sure , He is not a bad player when he picks Zed and I'm first timing Taliyah , and then kills me , I'm fine with it but the problem when he calls me bad for getting killed by one of the weakest champions in the game while I'm playing a meta champion .. Zed mains actually think Zed is weak The problem is when I'm playing Lux and a Yasuo main flashes mastery 7 on me and meets me somewhere and Blocks my Q and kills me then says " EZ OUTPLAYED , Lux sell you skin wtf you are too bad to play Elementalist , wtf you are mastery 7 on Lux? refund the champion " I get this a lot lol

Yeah and mage mains think mages are weak when they're not. Taliyah is weak mid, but you'll see people on boards running around talking about how Vel'Koz is "weak". Lol.

No one gives a shit about balance, they just want their mains to be OP. Or at least for all of their counters to be nerfed into the ground.

Fun fact every one that mains a champions Not including Ryze says that their champion is weak and by main i mean nearly like a One Trick type of main one that knows the ins and outs of the champion. And i say not Ryze mains as that champion is just a meme and the Ryze sub reddit knows that.

that is a specific case where this might be true but OP is refering to the people on the boards harassing people who like to play meta picks/runes.

Yes, a bad player is still a bad player, but not everyone who plays meta is bad/an idiot/metaslave/an asshole. That was the point of this thread :)

You know. These statements in their core essence are all true. The reason people stay hard on those claims is because they usually apply in so many cases they might be considered to be a thing.

Yasuo players are by amount the most toxic players in the community, so it grew on people that playing yasuo equals shitty person.

People by an increasing amount want to win disregarding to any fun, so they take easy meta picks to win, which grew on the community that people are just plain bad.

it's a two sided perspective you have to account for, on one side your statements are true, but in a more practical example given, they more or less fade into the exact opposite.

they don't have to adhere to anything they are just seen as sweaty kids by anyone above the rank of gold when they play their mains in normals, same goes for people that buy pinks or play egirl supports though.

Oh yeah. Heaven forbid I actually see the enemy coming. Why would I not love getting snuck up on and killed? It's the best thing in the game, am I right? Or even better, there's an Evelyn, Twitch, or Shaco in the game. Isn't it amazing to have them creep up on you even if it's warded? It's just the best! XD >.>

oh yeah heaven forbid I actually tackle the 9 year old while playing football with my family, why would I not love him just running across the field and scoring a touchdown? its the best thing in the game to get scored against like that, am I right? or even better, let the enemy 9 year old tackle me down instead of roflstomping him to the ground. isn't it amazing to lose to 9 year olds in football even if you already try hard? it's just the best! XDDDD

Lol. I don't know what it's like in your family, but my family wouldn't bat an eye if I tackled the kid as long as I don't seriously hurt them. If they didn't pay attention enough to dodge out of the way then that's their problem. At 9 years old they're old enough to understand how the game works and take it seriously.

I don't understand how having vision is equivalent to tackling the kid as hard as you can. It's not hurting them, just making sure you can back off and not die. Teemo shrooms, jhin flowers, and the like are tackling the kid as hard as you can.

the main difference is the atmosphere, in case one you are there to kick ass and in the second you are there to just have fun. hell all of em could be professional football players and just having a couple of beers and playing for fun and then some guy showed up in professional gear jacked up on steroids and caffeine and started trying his dick off.

I'm not sure about where you're from, but I don't know of any adult aged non-professional, or semi-professional, sports leagues that aren't basically just getting drunk and having a good time.

Yes, the critical difference is that at the high levels of play you get payed. At the low levels of play in sports you don't get payed and it's done for fun by the players without much regard for the competitive rankings relative to those in the league.

If they're not all playing at a professional level, then there's no reason to be shoving player's rankings in their faces. Yeah, make the information accessible, but we really don't need the complex ranking system that's been set up for amateur competitive play. Jump in a game, pick what you want, try to win. If you want to try hard and, well let's be honest look up on google then, counter pick the enemy team's picks, great you might end up a couple of divisions ahead of other players of equal skill level that just jump in and have fun.

I enjoy competition as much as the next guy, but the tone in which amateur players take this game, not in small part due to having their relative rank constantly shoved in their faces, is a good part of the reason that the development and community behavior has been so fucking terrible.

No it doesn't make them bad players. But it doesn't mean I have to like them when they inadvertently lead to the shafting and neutering of the champs people main or OTP regardless of meta. ._. I'm still salty that people decided to make Tristana the flavor of the month last year and despite her only having an average winrate or so(50%), she still got nerfed. It's like when Rekkles is playing, I used to get excited if he picked Tristana in Pro play before I knew what that actually meant. Now I'm terrified he'll pick her and do well and restart the entire process again.

Overall, sure, they arent bad, no skill players. But I still hate them and wish they wouldn't touch or comment on my OTPs or mains.

Inting isn't "getting killed". Everyone dies a couple times but if you exhibit the same mistakes over and over again without learning/adapting in the game and you die because of those errors, then you're intentionally losing/feeding.

Meta slave is anyone who plays champions that are blatantly strong that didn't play them the patch prior. An example is MidBeast that literally only plays champions that are meta and says shit like "yeah Ryze is pretty strong and doesn't take skill to play" when he hasn't played a Ryze game in the past months.

If people played smart, they wouldn't die 10 times in a game. Have you ever seen Dopa play? He calculates EVERYTHING and measures risk for reward in every situation he's in. I am not saying people should play exactly like Dopa, but if you're smart you wont die as often.
