I got autofilled support and ruined the hell out of a game

Turns out Im a bad support. But in any case, riot is content with forcing support on me every once in a while so they're content with me unwittingly ruining the hell out of peoples' games every once in a while.

If support is a shit role no one wants to play and causes systemic bottlenecks why not.. Oh I don't know, change support to make it actually exciting?

I think support is actually in a somewhat good place (at least compared to before), but people will always prefer a 'carry' role (which is why mid is most popular).

I think gaps in popularity will always exist, and players just have to learn to cope when they are filled into these gaps.

Why not just practice the roll in normals? Pick up a few champions, Sona, Leona, Braum etc. Play some Co-Op AI games to get a general feel for the champions you end up liking, do some normals until you feel like you're decent in the roll and then it won't matter?

Everything comes down to practice and while it sucks to not get the role you want all the time, it's better to at least get the role you enjoy sometimes versus not at all because someone autolocks and decides that they want to be a particular role regardless of what the pick order is in draft/call order in blind was.

The system is definitely not perfect but instead of offering a different way of doing things all you're doing is adding fuel to the fire of tens upon tens of topics that are similarly phrased. If you feel like you could come up with a solution that would allow everyone to play their roles you should suggest it, if you can't what's the point of this?

Theres no excuse for refusing to learn a role. You not being able to support is your fault not riots.

And I enjoy support from time to time. Can't say "no one" likes it.

With that said I wouldn't mind riot making support more fun to play.

Support isn't a shit role no one wants to play, you're just shit at support by your own admission. Why (and how) should they change the role to make it more interesting to someone that doesn't have an interest in it from the beginning? You just sound entitled, you want them to make the role more fitted to your liking with no regard to how anyone else feels about it, and with no interest in learning the nuances of it.

They've been trying to do that for a while now. Do you happen to have any constructive suggestions on-hand?

autofill is something everyone has to deal with, if you truly hate playing it just dodge or play easy supps like Alistar and Yasuo

The problem with support isn't that it's not exciting.

The problem is that people lack the attitude to play a proper support.

A support is like a pawn in chess. He should sacrifice himself to defend the fed teammate if escaping is impossible for both of you.

And the same pawn can get a checkmate on the enemy King. As support you want to make other people shine. Because it makes you shine.

A lot of people lack this attitude. They are blinded by the thought of "I have to carry or nobody else can."

Then why df not just go another champ. Supports exist to enable not to carry like the current stupid ass mage sup meta
