"wahh wahh supprots r adcs slaves :(((("

ADCs do hard, manual labor called farming and last hitting. And you don't have to. In fact, your job is to make sure everyone else on the team are doing their own labor. Hard labor is a slave's job. Masters don't do that dry "hard labor work".

So if supports aren't the ones farming and last hitting, then they are not slaves. They are the masters of their teams.

Now quit yer yammerin', and happy supporting!

Actually this can be true. Having a Support as a Shot caller simply because they tend to look at the map a little bit more often than others they can actually set things up and tell people when they can go in..

"Enemy jungle is top.. Mid you got about 1 minute to win-it."

Wh1teWu1f1 votes

I tried this once when their bot lane showed up mid for some reason. I pinged bot tower for us to push it in and try taking it... My ADC ran from bot side to mid to help defend when there was no need (our jungler was mid and they had a tower) and I couldn't take the tower myself because no damage... I'd never felt more tilted.

I remember screwing my team over because they actually listened to my miscalculated shotcalling. Like, the "taking dragon when we really should have just backed" kind of mistake.

Wasn't pretty, but people do prioritize listening to supports.

Mimy1 votes

Shot calling is hard. I'm not a shot caller I prefer to be shot called.

Which is why I like ADC... Point me to the nearest thing to attack and I behave like a dog..

Varus -Ults 3 people - (It feels soo good to get 3-5 people in a varus ult and then my team collapses on them!)

Source?

Mimy1 votes

Do you need a source? What are you a little booty-tickled that I said Support was a good role to Shot-call in?

Any role can shot call.. It's just supports, without having to CS they have a little bit more time to watch the map than minion's HPs dropping.

No, I just want to see some data to support your claim friend.

Mimy1 votes

Should I make data? Yoy would think supports looking at the map more would be a given...

Well I guess that depends on the support.. because some supports could probably just be like...

Hmm.. I guess jungler is in the runnings of shot calling too. Good call...

I don't jungle often.. xD but I know that when I so Im looking at the map a lot while taking camps trying to figure out who to gank.. xD

And then my ganks fail... QQ

it's harder to stack Q's as nasus than it is to last hit minions. especially once you get your first BF sword. :P

I buy relic shield, so I do last hit minions

Athenes Lulu1 votes

But do you do it all the time?

if you feel like a slave as support its because you don't know your role. People like you are the reason people like the OP exist.

You are command. You cannot take command. You solve the problems the big guns can't You make the world go round You are the man behind the curtains You are why the plot was foiled. You are intelligence.

And when your adc moves his scrawny ass without your permission you sit there and you watch that little bitch scrape his knee and slowly turn into a real man, don't go kiss his booboo like a weak bleeding heart parent everytime he fucks up. YOU are the team shotcaller and are the only one who should have time for such things. This is your job and if you have no shots to call its because you are failing hard at said job.

Once in a while you would get those threads where support players complain about how much they hated the role and how supports are "their ADC's slaves".

Or even just posts.

... most support primaries are actually useless without an ADC around them. the reason why supports belong to the ADC is because of that; many are simply designed not to function without them.

take soraka as an exmaple. she cant do much alone. Braum? cant do much alone. sona? Again, not much she can do alone. Janna? Leona?

same thing. Whats more, most players below diamond have this... complex where the support is useless, leading to people forgoing the support role and instead building APC in the bot lane. this both furthers and strengthens the low ELO complex that supports are useless. Its a vicious cycle.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Masters and leaders who don't or can't do the hard labor on their own are also useless.

They look "useful" only because they know how to look for workers/laborers and make a use of them.

Çhåryzård1 votes

Farming doesn't mean anything if your adc is a stuck up ass who refuses to work as a team in lane and harasses you and belittles you and expects you to cater to their every whim while they call the shots

The people that usually do this are the ones that think they can 1v3 the 2 enemy botlaners and the jg, and then when they die they pin their stupid mistake on you because 'ur the supprt ur supposed 2 save meh u fukn noob fukn grbage supprt'

I don't usually have a problem bot, I help my adc, keep the alive and get them kills and I get the occasional 'nice' or 'gj', I'm happy knowing that I helped. Botlane is supposed to be a team lane, you and your partner have to work together.

It's REALLY annoying when you have the one adc who thinks they are God and that you will be able to heal them no matter what. Like I remember I had a Vayne who i JUST SAVED from a gank, go back into the 1v3 without warning and then after dying started flaming me saying it was my fault they died and I should've kept them healed. Like no way, if you want to be an idiot then I will not be able to save you, I'm not going to risk dying myself if I know you're dead either way.

But overall I don't generally have problems, so idk where this "supports are slaves" thing comes from, been supporting since I joined the game 2 years ago and it's only the occasional douche adc or "im gonna go straight ap support because i didnt want support" person that are problems botlane.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

If anything, ADCs are usually just things I'm gonna have to force myself to work with, whether I like them or not. If they are shit, rude, bad, or I don't like them for any given reason, suck it up learn to deal with them because you're gonna see that as a support main on an almost daily basis, even if your ADC is the same premade you play with almost all the damn time. Often, they don't have the sharpest map awareness or even game sense so they either follow you or you have to "boss" them around, and everything is fine again. Though of course, it's more about teamwork and cooperation, especially if you are someone who can't engage for jack shit.

Once in a while you would come across those "pro support" circlejerk threads bitching and whining on how they're always "undervalued", "always abused", and of course, "enslaved by their teammates", when in reality they really just need to get good at the game. And those were apparently "popular opinion" and are "something Riot really needs to address asap omg". This thread is in hopes of a response to those kinds of threads, if anything.

Sincerely, a support main since season 3.

It's not that you're wrong; you're just feeling those downvotes because there's a little bit of salt regarding supports.

The real dilemma here is that everyone in every role is equally capable of flagrant stupidity, but nobody will ever call their own and will probably not learn from mistakes they make-- after all, they're not really under the impression that they made one in the first place.

Athenes Lulu1 votes

I was expecting to get some popularity since it's pretty much "pro (bad) support" kappa

Looks like something got lost into translation, and ended up becoming bait.

We all know well enough that every role gets their own shit, but the support circlejerk is the easiest to poke fun of.
