@Riot: Want to encourage Jhin to build crit? Buff his attackspeed to AD conversions.

This also gives him more ways to stay relevant in more metas without having to rely on lethality just to be relevant.

EDIT: To put it this way, lethality doesn't have to be the only way to make him viable in the meta.

the crit route is still better... Its just lethality casters are better early/mid game.

Its a personal choice. In the event that your enemy has a tank, under no circumstance should you be going Lethality tho. Imo. Not unless youre really motivated to win in 20mins.

100% Crit Chance Jhin. item 3031 item 3046 item 3094 item 3006 item 3036 item 3508 This build alone, with lethal tempo, Alacrity, and Coup De Grace will give you a base of 725 AD without lethal tempo being added. I can guarantee you, you nearly 2 shot anyone with under 3k health with just his basics.

If Riot wants Jhin to build crit, they only have to make one change:

Passive - Death in Four Acts -

Jhin's fourth shot deals % missing health damage as physical magic damage.

Boom. That's literally all they need to do. That makes lethality so much fucking worse on him.

Crit Jhin isn't bad. Lethality is just a lot easier to snowball with because the power of his fourth shot is front loaded. Make it so the assassination in his kit doesn't scale with assassin items and he'll go back to being a marksman.

what if they buffed his movespeed builds since that's all I ever see teammates is the MoveVeryFast Jhin build?

machine gun jhin let's go

Crit Jhin is viable especially with the new Fleet of Foot crit buff. He's always been viable actually, just focuses on late game. Since the meta is early game snowball, it's more optimal to go early game lethality. It's even more optimal to go for it if their team has a tank, or a better late game hyper carry that you are going to have a hard time to compete, Vayne, etc. So better to end the game before she becomes a beast.

Jhin's crits currently deal reduced crit damage, so there's always that which could be improved upon. Personally, I dislike the RNG component to crit, so perhaps it might even be better to have his crits deal no bonus at all, but instead drastically increase the crit-to-AD increase component in his passive, and add in a further increased based on Infinity Edge, which would afford him a very large and constant raw damage multiplier.

Boulderox12/12/2017, 4:50:26 AM2 votes

or buff his crit ratios...

Jhins crits do 150% damage instead of 200% that most champs get, and with item 3031 bumps to 187.5% down from 250% damage.

But there was a reason for the change so it is up in the air, I think the nerfs to lethality in the next patch will bring back crit jhin

I mean, I still build crit Jhin, I don't know about everybody else. I go Ghostblade, then go IE, etc

You can build lethality on jhin?

Play fleet footwork Jhin with IE SHIV RAPID

Unless you're buffing it to the point that a wonky double zeal item build nets you an insane amount of AD late game then you wont really change anything by buffing that ratio. Keep in mind that right now even with double lethality as his first 2 items he still ends the game with 50% crit.

Lit Corn12/12/2017, 7:55:58 PM1 votes

buff his MOVE SPEED when he crits !!! rito please ! The Fast gotta be faster Jhin summoner 6 summoner 7 item 3142 item 3046 item 3085 item 3006 item 3087 item 3094

EDIT : im apparently not the only one thinking about it :p

The issue here isn't that Crit is bad on Jhin, it's that Lethality plays better to his strengths.

Jhin can't kill tanks with his attack speed. Building crit fixes this somewhat (the speed makes him amazing at kiting until he gets CC'd), but he's still bad.

If you're against a bunch of tanks, you shouldn't have picked Jhin (or you at least should have picked a tank buster alongside Jhin).

Building crit is building to be a worse version of a normal ADC. Lethality on the other hand, is building Jhin to be a better Jhin.

While he sucks ass at killing tanks, he's one of the best against frail targets. While his burst is on par with a Draven or Corki, what really sets him apart is his ult. Tanks can bodyblock the ult and engage while Jhin is still. Squishies have to run, since getting caught by those shots means death (if not by Jhin, by his team thanks to the slow).

Building lethality makes a lot of sense on Jhin for this reason. Crit items are important for the late game, just because of how good those unique effects are on him (IE amps his ult/4th shot, RFC gives him the range he needs, ER's mana regen and CDR is nice), but lethality is better for getting him there.

I do not believe Jhin is a particularly bad place. He values high priority targets as almost a ranged assassin/sniper. As such, there's no reason to increase his damage or crit scalings because he already demolishes the likes of most carries who aren't over tuned in their own right.
