Why are people so ridiculously opposed to voice chat?

Nothing mandates you to have to use it, you can simply leave it off. I for one dont want to go through the trouble of letting random people into my discord server or adding people on skype etc.

News flash, a lot of ppl want voice chat, and if you dont, fine, keep it off and pretend it was never put in place anyways for all I care

Because I've experienced it in other games.

This. I don't want to spend my fun time getting yelled at by a 12 yo who shit his pants when someone "stole his kill." It's bad enough seeing people type their anger. At least if there's physical proof that someone is being an asshat, they can be reported and punished. If they're being flamers and hostile in voice chat, there's no definitive proof, so I vote hard no to it.

If a lot of people want it, then why would they be, "...so ridiculously opposed...", to it? Voice chat is a bad idea bro. Look at DOTA 2, CS: GO, and Overwatch. They all have voice chat and the only thing that comes from it is frustration, anger, and overall a pretty terrible experience playing a game in your off time. Also, who says you have to let random people into your discord server? Bro, play a few games with someone, make friends. If they are cool, then add them. Finally, this game is unfortunately dominated by mostly 14-17 year old kids who flame, quit, and whine over the smallest of issues in a video game. Definitely not a good idea man.

Poorly worded title, ive seen support for voice chat.

Also, none of what you said matters because you can opt out completely, nothing forces u to use voice chat. THERES NO REASON NOT TO ADD IT AS AN OPTIONAL COMMUNICATION ROUTE

Maybe in NA where almost everyone speaks english, but on multi-country servers it would be so bad for the game

How will you punish the flamers and such? With voice chat there's not really hard proof that they did what they did, unlike normal chat where someone can be reported for flaming and being toxic and it can actually be proven by what they wrote.

I'm not against people linking their Discords or using Curse/Twitch to automatically connect to teammates, but I feel like an actual in game voice chat is asking for disaster. Overwatch is 10% actual fun communication and good conversation and 90% kids flaming people for making one misplay (or not making an misplays at all)

-Screaming 12 year olds -Players with terrible mics -People who think the best use of voice chat is to blast music/porn -Random annoying background noises -Many different languages on the server -Next to Impossible to moderate -There are already good 3rd party voice chats
