Bronze 4 players receive 2 additional ip, bronze 3 players get 3, silver 5 players get 5 and so forth.

Mysticman891 votesHigh elo players have a tendency to have more than enough games played to buy everything they wanted with IP to begin with, so it's not really a reward. Heck, some high elo have enough games played to buy literally everything with IP, and wish there were more IP sinks for them.
Also your proposed difference seems like it'd be pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. If you played 1k games to get to diamond, saving yourself 100 games (which you'll probably be playing anyway, since you presumably enjoy this game if you earned diamond) in IP costs isn't really a big deal.
