I don't really mind Duskblade, but you need to delay the powerspike by 3-5 minutes.

Throw in a Pickaxe and give it a bit more AD. Squishies just need enough time to finish a Seeker's or something.

The Duskblade spike comes right before even 1-item champions get to reach their first big powerspike. IF you don't spike at gunblade/DD/BotRK you're just dead without the ability to trade back. Even then, Duskblade is about 700-800g cheaper than any of those.

Let's just make Duskblade 80 AD and 18 Lethality. What could go wrong with that?

The change you're suggesting would serve to further break Duskblade. It increases the slot efficiency to the point where it's an item you'd always buy as any AD champion. What you're talking about is giving Duskblade, an item which already has good stats a stat bump. This would give Duskblade probably the best stats of any item, considering the power of its passive that would not be OK.

A better change would be to significantly nerf its damage at low levels. This could look like taking its melee damage from 50+(15/level) (on the PBE) to 18/level and its ranged damage down to 10/level. That way rushed Duskblade would be less insane.

not a bad idea but then are we increasing over all cost of item ?

Yeah. The overall cost of the item would be increased by ~900g (along with the +25 AD to the item stats) which would put it right up there with most champion's first items.

but then some would argue that the point of an assassin is to be early game power single target death threat and by doing so you are handicapping them and therefore nerfing them

Agreed. The fact that an AD midlaner can just rush Dusk while an AP midlaner MUST rush Seekers or basically die 3 extra time just seems unfair. Even if the AP mid is ahead, the AD can still just get Dusk and win.

First let's change the passive damage proc to have a cooldown. That might help tone things down a lot.
