Similar to Darius ult
Its far too easy for champs with resets to come in, do damage, and then zhonyas/leave fight and wait for their allies to give them resets. It makes balancing them incredibly hard.
An easy solution for this would be to make the reset condition on kills only, that way they actually have to do all the damage or wait for a specific time to jump in
KaisadiIIa3 votesThat would encourage an "I'll save Q to make sure I'm getting the kill" playstyle that would be really obnoxious. It's already toxic when someone does it to have a cool score, it'd be worse if you are required to do so even if you don't care about scores. I'll just say the opposite: There should be no differentiation between killing or assisting.

Darius R only affects to kills because it requires to deal the killing blow. You can't deal the killing blow and get an assist, and you can get a kill without dealing the killing blow with R.

DarkApostle1 votesThat forces champions that need that to keep up damage in a team fight to be intensely greedy, which isn't good for the team overall. Front loading all the gold/kills onto one champion is dangerous.
I feel like the window narrowing they did to Katarina is the right move (though I don't play Kat much myself so I'm not an authority by far), so the champions can't splash out their combo, sprint away from the team fight and then come back and do it again at full damage a good handful of seconds later.

DeusVult1 votesactually, there is nothing wrong with katarina atm, but in general with champs who have kill resets, they become a nightmare to balance
and other champs than kat benefit from this
like 
getting dived, she's almost dead but then she gets an assist and kites your diver, kills him and cleans up teamfight.
same goes for trist
same for his jump and clean up duty
Kat isnt the only one who can dump damage and not get a kill because the other team effectively shut down her efforts with their own, but then just come back in because of assists and wreck face

MigYalle1 votesThat's an excellent way to COMPLETELY KILL OFF ! Think more before you post. (I'm assuming here.) Just cause Katarina cleaned you guys up really easy doesn't mean many champions suffer. Either way, You helped kill, you deserve something for helping Kill. Next we should change it so that only the killing champion gets gold right?!
