How to lane against a Darius (and Renekton)

It appears that a lot of people are having a hard time grasping what to do against a lane bully like Darius or Renekton

I want to start by saying I main a champion (MonkeyKing) that gets absolutely fucking destroyed in lane ezpz by both of them and I don't think either is "OMG BROKEN OP".

How to lane against Darius / Renekton:

  1. Get some early sustain! item 2033 or pots!

  2. Bait out their Q at level 2 to auto-shove the wave to you. You are going to be denied some farm, but its still WAY better than feeding kills and losing the wave to your turret anyway.

  3. Farm under tower the best you can

  4. Wait for them to make a mistake or waste CDs. They're going to accidentally take a few tower shots trying to harass you most of the time. If Darius misses his E then uses his Q on minions, go in for a short trade! Do NOT let him 5 stack you though. Get in and get out. Same for Renek. You can trade easily if he wastes too many CDs on creeps.

  • A) Wait for jungle assistance since they will constantly be pushed to your tower any time they want to use their Q

  • B) Use your TP to make plays around the map. Dont take Ignite to a lane you know you cant win 1v1.

  • C) Wait for them to back, shove out your wave quickly, and roam mid

  • D) Suck it up and deal with it because as long as you don't feed them, they're pretty shit when teams start grouping

TADA! NOT broken or OP. You don't have to go 3/0 in lane to win a game.

Now you too can lane against Darius & Renekton without feeding them 3 kills in 10 minutes!

If Ren burns all his abilities, it is waaay better to take an extended trade. However, if he's building up fury for an empowered W or Q, then it's not.

If Darius takes tower shots trying to harass you, you either let him auto you or he already hit his Q on you, which you should dodge, because he's only gonna take tower shots when he's trying to CS under your tower but his Bleed's hitting you.

item 2033 is a terrible idea, especially against Renekton, because it makes it sooo much easier for them to oneshot you/kill you in a single trade. item 1029 or item 1054 is recommended.

Normally I'll start item 2033 and rush item 3047. I've played the lane enough to not die to a cheesy level 2-3 all in. Tier two boots don't set you back as much as building components to an armor item unless you're playing a tank that wants to rush said items

Tabi's is an 1100 gold that's gonna be really hard to get if Darius or Renekton is zoning you off gold (if not experience). That being said, Sunfire Cape first item is a fine item for almost any bruiser, as many of them pick it up as a second or third item anyway. Only in the case of a melee carry is that not a good idea, and even then, I've seen some tanky Fiora's who make do with 2 damage items.

I might be a bit biased then because I main Wukong. Tank Wukong is trash because he is extremely item reliant for all his damage. A Sunfire Cape Wukong is completely worthless

Pretty much ya. Or you can be complete cancer and pick a marksman like Caitlyn top lane and kite them for days.

And proceed to get shit on because Caitlyn is slow as heck and doesn´t have the tools someone like Quinn or Kayle have to escape ganks. Cait top lane is just asking for that delicious Defeat animation at the end of the match.

That is literally my pick into darius but my teams always ducking rage when I do.

Caitlyn vs Darius is cancer but it counters Darius so hard. (Ive done it too xD)

ya they are a bit skill dependent on last hitting minions, in higher elo it might be alot harder to lane against them but it really does come down to the enemy Darius or Renekton discretion as to weather or not they will last hit using spells or if the time to do so is right or not.

Dodging the Darius Q is the key to beating him. If he can't sustain off of you, he is at a huge disadvantage.

As long as you don't fight Ren when he has full fury, you should be fine.

Depending on jungle support is a VERY iffy thing unless you are a pre-made. Most junglers who try to help you just end up feeding.

I don't do much complaining about either of those two, and I usually play the champions they destroy up top.

But Pantheon? I don't wanna see his 300-wannabe fucking ass on the other side of the lane. My god I hate Pantheon.

Panth is so much worse to lane against than Darius and Renek. The only thing you can do is try your best to not feed him.

winning lane against him is pretty much sitting under tower with a cloth for 20 minutes

Unfortunately he hits 6 and no matter how much you spam Panth MIA your lanes still play agro and die.
