Last season was my first full season on League. I started off playing top lane, and quickly realized I was getting owned up there. This caused me to be placed low bronze, almost into wood.

As the season went along I found a home in bot lane as a support main. I went from a passive support that just kept the ADC alive, to a roaming carry support that would help multiple lanes. My win percentage kept going up but I stayed stuck in bronze.

With season 8 starting soon will I get a clean MMR for my placement games? What I'm hoping is that miserable performance in top lane won't continue to be an anchor on my win percentage in season 8.

Last question. Would it help if I continue to play ranked during preseason? Does those wins and MMR help in placement for next season?

Any information or advice would be appreciated.

I don't think they've explicitly stated what's going to happen this year; in the past, they've only done a soft reset.

I think that your MMR from Preseason will be accounted for whenever the reset happens. My best advice would be to keep playing and just try your best to improve. That can't hurt you, in my opinion.
