PSA: Bronze Players Make Mistakes

I'm kind of new to LoL, started playing last year around September. LoL is an awesome game and I'm really enjoying it. I'm currently Bronze 3, recently promoted from B4, and working my way to Gold as my goal for this season. And, I make mistakes. Hopefully not as many in ranked games as I do in regular draft mode, but I do make mistakes.

I, like nearly every bronze player, make these mistakes because we are learning the game. You learn best from making mistakes and figuring out how to avoid making the same mistake a second time, even then that happens also. Bronze players use regular draft mode, and blind pick, to practice champions and learn what we can and can't do. When we do something and get smashed, hopefully we file that under "can't do", but we might try it another time to make sure.

Map awareness is not easy to pick up. When keeping an eye on our own health and mana bars, where our lane opponents are, what the cool down timer on our abilities are at, and timing last hit on minions, we some times forget to ping when someone is missing. We will probably not notice you roaming through the jungle and running into the enemy jungler, so don't expect our help. From time to time we might come to your assistance, we do try, I'm just saying don't expect it.

Not every game with us is going to run smoothly. Some do, and it is fun when it happens. It's nothing personal, we are not trolling you and trying to ruin your day with our bad play. If you are such a superior player offer advice to help us improve. Flaming insults will NEVER result in a better experience. In fact, getting your blood pressure up because you expect bronze players to perform like Challenger tier players is more your own fault than ours. You are ruining your own day.

Thank you all for your time, and patience as I learn this game. I would say that the majority of players I get grouped with understand the challenges of playing in the bronze tier, and are amazing in the charity they show in helping me get better. But for you few players that misread my screen name and thought I was C9_Smoothie when I play support.... sorry for the misunderstanding. Take a deep breath, wait to respawn, and when you get back into lane with me expect to die when you turret dive while I'm learning how best to keep you alive.

Silver Players make mistakes. Gold Players make mistakes. Us in high/mid plat make mistakes. Diamond Players make mistakes. LCS players make mistakes.

I heard Faker made a mistake once, but I can't verify that.

That being said, humans make mistakes. Keep your head high, find a role you enjoy, and spam the crap out of it. Focus more on getting better than winning and you will climb.

You seem to be for the most part maining support. I would suggest you try Engage supports Blitzcrank Nautilus Leona Alistar , some carry supports Zyra Velkoz Brand, and enchanters Lulu Sona Nami Janna and some of the hybrid between two of the three TahmKench Braum Karma Zilean and find at LEAST one champion from each of the various pools that you enjoy. There are more here than what I listed, just a few examples.

You will likely notice that carry supports will help you climb the fastest, but I personally as an ADC main much prefer enchanters, or hybrids like Karma who put out a LOT of damage early and can turn into defensive supports later.

Thanks for advice. And I expect players to make mistakes no matter their rank, but I suspect the mistakes are fewer and further between the higher you climb.

I serious doubt your claim of Faker making a mistake. If you he did, it must have been a bug in the game that caused it :)

I've trying to main Brand support, as I agree that carry support seems to be the best in bronze for now. I would like to play more Karma or Lulu , but I need to have a good ADC I can rely on to do that. Also, Nautilus support or top is were I hope to go, but tanks are so reliant on the rest of the team to carry that it's very inconsistent in bronze.

Players make less mistakes for sure, but they get punished much harder. The stuff I get away with on my smurf is unreal. The difference between high elo and low elo isn't a matter of not making mistakes, but punishing your opponents. That's why lcs players play so reserved, it's so they don't get punished.

brand is amazing support if you want to carry but I think better carry supports are zyra, blitz especially, and tahm kench (surprisingly)

You would not believe how hard karma and lulu can solo carry. Lulu not as much, but karma has so much damage of you don't build her as a windspeaker enchanter that it is unreal. I'm talking 1 shot the enemy mid levels of damage.

You should play naut if you like him. No matter what you play you will be dependent on your team, but If you play the ultimate engage and peel support, you get to dictate when the fights start and how they go.

I'd also recommend either trying other roles or getting a duo partner if you're serious about trying to get out of Bronze. You can theoretically carry yourself out of Bronze with supports, but that's assuming that you're REALLY good with them and can hit literally all of your CC/spells/whatever. Chances are, if you're as bad as I am, you won't be able to. Even then, you could hit every single Nami bubble, but if your team doesn't take advantage of it it won't matter.

Playing other roles would allow for more direct interaction with the flow of the game, since you're the one securing the kills. Alternatively, if you want to support the whole way through, find a good ADC to duo with. Either one that you worked well with in solo queue, or one that stomped you. You'll eventually find one as they're probably wanting to get out too, and the synergy you two will have should easily beat out any solo queue combination you get in bot lane.

Heh, reminds me of this gragas I had on my team last night. I tried talon top (3rd time ever using him) and my lane opponent was a plat player (I'm gold) using their Irelia with 106 games played. To say that I fed is an understatement. Gragas then flamed me saying I shouldn't play ranked.... I pointed out that this game was normal draft. He then says I need to go to blind pick instead lol.

But yea man, shit happens, and some games are gonna be really REALLY bad. Just move on to the next one and remember to report the flamers.

Only thing I dislike is when low elo players try to act like they have the same footing as others.

The way some players complain about their team you would think the system mistakenly placed a platinum player in a bronze game. In my head I'm like..."Dude, your bronze like the rest of us and feeding more than I anyone else."
