It's better to feed the jungler than your lane opponent

If I know I'm about to die, I will try my best to let the enemy jungle secure the kill instead of my lane opponent. This is because the jungler can only threaten other lanes, he can't actually take any.

Not necessarily, if you're giving up a kill to any of the early high pressure junglers like: Evelynn , Khazix , Kindred , LeeSin , MasterYi , Shaco , Udyr , or MonkeyKing then it makes it super easy for them to snowball and turn lanes.

Yeah, dying to your lane opponent isn't always optimal, but giving the jungler easy gold is usually the worst kind of idea. Especially if you're the top lane.
