Cho'gath mid any good

I remember when ryze, katarina, and release ekko were pick/ban. Basically alot of combo champions. AP cho'gath mid was rampant back then. I used to use him then. I see him top and that's problematic for a yorick.main such as myself not that this will solve anything. I also heard cho'gath jg is currently busted af boiz. I mean seriously. 57% jg winrate. He has cc with a decent range and it slows after the knockup and enough time they get close to chain it with the silence and blue smite. But that's besides the point. I don't see him mid like back in the day. Of course people will try to support with him but that's not as optimal as it was even though it wasn't meta to begin with. I know top is good and jg is broken. Anyways is cho'gath mid good.

It just depends on the matchup, you probably shouldnt blind pick him. You will also be missing a high damage source from the team, so you would need to get that from top or jg.

Playing full ap cho wont make your team lose a damage source. His Q is one of thr best aoe burst spells in the game (if you look at the hard utility it provides). You need to be able to hit it though.

Cho actually deals a fair amount of damage if you build him like a mage. He has very high AP scalings on top of his high base damages. High teamfight presence due to his AOE CC. Zhonya/Banshees are good buys that give resistances and cooldown reduction on top of his already massive health pool. You have the power of a mage with the durability of an off-tank.
