I think the community needs to make its mind up

I am talking about the snowball potential of the game.

First everyone complained about long games and riot clearly reduces the length of games by nerfing towers, taking lasers out of the nexus and inhibitor turrets, introducing rift herald and giving sht tons of damage to champs against turrets whilst towers hitting like wet noodles.

This meant that you'll lose the game earlier if you make major mistakes. Then the 15-20 minutes surrender system was introduced. All it did was ultimately make games end even faster as now most people surrender without even waiting for the enemy team to break the nexus and i am simply tired of every other game ending with a surrender. Hell, it feels awful even if my team is dominating now because the enemy has no chance of making a comeback and you can almost predict a surrender.

What i don't understand is that most people want short games because they hate farming in lane and just want more team fights. Right? Then wouldn't it be better if you had longer games so that there will be more team fights? Not only that, if a match lets say lasts for 25 minutes the first 15 minutes will be in lane and the last 10mins will be team fights. That means you'll be spending 60% of the match in lane whilst if matches lasted longer you'll actually have more team fights and have more time outside lane.

It works the same way if you want to climb. Instead of losing LP by surrendering earlier on because you can just win the next, you might as well try for a comeback in case you win and try in your next game to win again. I like the fact that longer games means that the enemy team always has the chance of making a comeback and it feels so thrilling to play, not knowing the outcome of the match. Do you guys think matches should be longer than they currently are or shorter and why?
