What does MF do to earn her power?

This does really bother me actually. I see a lot and yet her kit is very simple and she seems to literally have no reason to be as powerful as she is. I really do not understand ADC's in this season. Last season they were pretty balanced but the moment they were pushed out of botlane, Riot gave loads of them a huge amount of buffs.

There are plenty of mages that have no place in the game at the moment due to the absurd levels of mobility some champions have and yet Riot have never considered giving them more then "token buffs". It really does feel like Riot has a lot of favouritism and instead of not enforcing a meta (which they did in the past), they try to enforce their own idea of what a meta should be.
